“If there were no God, there would be no atheists.”
Gotta love Chesterton. So many miss his wit.

Re: Jesus revealed in the Tetragrammaton
AND folks... For the first time we have the best possible pronunciation of God's name. Apparently it was in the Leningrad Codex (the oldest Hebrew OT) and the Aleppo codex that revealed His name, all other codex's the vowels are absent. What we’ve always seen was the Tetragrammaton without the vowe...

Nice. I just wish there was an equal amount of them out there, but I have the feeling the majority of them are "Ray Comfort"-esque (not to be insulting, but unfortunately, he's not the most scientific or credible Christian out there...)

Re: The God of the Old Testament
Two books will answer all your questions. "is God a moral monster" by Paul Copan and "the case for the real Jesus" by Lee Strobel. Also you say you are happy if there is a God or not. My advice to you is that is not a good stance to take as you better be sure of the right answer...

Child Religious Indoctrination
I have absolutely no idea what to say in regards to this topic. I've read the page on religious youth and the unlikeliness they will engage in risky behaviors here on the website, but I have a sense that to negate an opponent of child baptism and religious instruction, we require some heavy psycholo...

Re: A few questions from an atheist.
I just looked around the website and I couldn't find anything. Can you link us to some articles? They are there; there's even a search bar to use. Here are some that answer some of the main questions by atheists: 1. If Christianity is a made up fairy tale by a bunch of ancient guys, their imaginati...

Re: Can physics and chemistry account for ... ?
If the concept of love is to lie within the domain of the discipline of evolutionary psychology, then we'd all better pack up and go home now, for knowledge of how we ought to love and how we ought to think is abandoned, replaced by a dubious, descriptive psychology. And we are reduced to self-refe...

Haha, yes I saw that there's a YouTube channel which actually saves a lot of work already. Certain members could perhaps sign up to take on a chunk of topics and then send them to the webmaster/YouTube owner (I'm assuming it's Rick?) and he can release them as he pleases? I am also so sick of the di...

Re: What does God make of my marriage?
That's right, Sleepykid, your correction is, well, correct :P Yes, it is recommended that those who are "un-yolked" should not be married, but if you're already in the marriage, the spouse can be "sanctified" through the believing spouse, so says St. Paul. Trials in life are part...

Re: A Difference in Perspective (Religious vs Non-Religious)
Thank you for this beautiful, beautiful post. I like your term "Earth Goggles" :) I found myself sadly smiling while reading your message. So much of this sounds familiar, and it's comforting to know that others have experienced the same. I'm also so glad you made a point to discuss how th...

What IS it with Wiki and YouTube that has them slobbering at the mouths? I don't get it. I know they're sources of information, but they hardly have the reliability of an editorial medium. Cool story, but I disagree. A polygamous man is much more likely to produce more offspring than a monogamous on...

And really, let's not overestimate a few years or decades of peace... sometimes that happens. But there's also huge wars and more potential for devastating potential for destruction (and as mentioned be reactionary, I see that as one reason for caution by wars in these leaders) Such a good point, N...

Re: Help! Not sure how to answer these questions...
Hello and welcome. Thanks! Not only that faith and reason are not mutually exclusive, but faith is a prerequisite to reason. You need faith to believe that your senses are giving you the right information, and that "reason" processes them and comes to accurate conclusions. I put "rea...

O.O I LOVE the term "parrots" for this. Oh my gosh, it's so beyond true. I just recently said that an atheist I'm dealing with always sounds like he's repeating someone else's words....OH. OH THE BRILLIANCE.Murray wrote:95% of atheist are parrots who cannot think for themselves.

How Can We Help?
Hi everyone, Someone (and forgive me for not remembering whom!) said in a post that atheists have an overwhelming number of video's on YouTube, and the few rational Christian ones are hard to find. This website is an incredible resource of information and I really would like to see it on YouT...
