Re: The Nature of God - Omnipresence

I haven't had a chance to look into this yet, so does anyone know why JWs argue against God's omnipresence? When I saw Alter2Ego bring that up I did some quick research on some of the main JW's forums. I came up with this: I've been looking around some of the JW's websites and it seems to be the co...

Re: Thoughts on Eternal Security (Specific verses included)

I really appreciate you posting these versus. Interesting discussion. I've never really been one to think OSAS. Because I can stop believing at any moment. If I chose to not put my faith in Christ, and put it in myself, or Stephen Hawking, or in a golden calf, then I am no longer saved. I suppose y...

Re: Bible Teachings or Traditions of Men?

ALTER2EGO -to- SON OF ALETHEIA: Speak for yourself. I happen to believe that you are an atheist and that you don't care anything about any conversation where the Bible is concerned. In fact, you showed up earlier making derogatory comments about the New World Translation. So your sudden interest in...

Re: Bible Teachings or Traditions of Men?

ALTER2EGO -to- PAUL SACRAMENTO: I looked through the verses you presented above and did not see anything in any of them that is with reference to literal hellfire torment . Suppose you explain where you are seeing literal hellfire by starting with the first four verses? We will do four verses at a ...

Re: Bible Teachings or Traditions of Men?

Neither did I, I think she was grasping at straws because her arguments were falling apart. I really don't think I will get a reply and even if I do it will be mere assertions. I've been looking around some of the JW's websites and it seems to be the common viewpoint. The true God is not omnipresen...

Re: Bible Teachings or Traditions of Men?

Hey Rick is it ok to discuss surrounding topics like omnipresence as it related to the trinity doctrine, Alter2ego rejected certain interpretations of passages because she claimed that omnipresence was not a property of God. I thought it was prudent to prove God is omnipresent as it related to the ...

Re: Thoughts on Eternal Security (Specific verses included)

Sure, if you want to narrow it down we could focus on the Romans 11 passage or the Colossians 1 passage.

Re: Help required on the Lebniz Cosmological arguement.

Is time the same as existence? literally? if not then what is existence? I don't think so. Many philosophers believe in abstract objects (numbers, propositions etc) and if they exist, they are not in time. The same could be said for God existing timelessly. So I don't think the words are synonymous...

Re: Help required on the Lebniz Cosmological arguement.

Craig addresses many of the questions posed here in this response http://www.reasonablefaith.org/argument-from-contingency Besides that, premise 2 is very plausible in its own right. For think of what the universe is: all of space-time reality, including all matter and energy. It follows that if the...

Re: Bible Teachings or Traditions of Men?

What you are observing is a perfect demonstration of what happens when people refuse to be corrected by the scriptures and decide to put human philosophies and pagan ideologies above what is stated in the Bible. This is how Trinitarians maintain the nonsensical belief in a 3-prong god. They make th...

Re: Thoughts on Eternal Security (Specific verses included)

I'm not following any specific hermeneutical principles here (at least none I'm aware of). So I'm open to various views and/or different hermeneutics

Would you guys disagree with my interpretations and conclusions here?

SonofAletheia: This is typical for A2E. Soon, she'll be claiming that everyone here is persecuting her or "mudslinging". Pleasse visit the forum where she just left. Thoughts on Eternal Security (Specific verses included)

I'd like your thoughts on some verses here concerning "Eternal Security" or "Once Saved Always Saved". Obviously this question assumes a non-Calvinistic perspective on salvation (And to take a break from all these Jehovah's Witness's topics :ewink: ) Romans 11:17-24, And if some of the branches were...

Re: Genesis Creation vs. Darwin's Macroevolution Myth

In other words, anything that debunks your personal opinions are wrong because you say so. At this point, I am familiar with your routine: Deny, deny, and deny, while producing no quotations from any sources to back up your denials. Keep denying with your: "No, that's not true," routine since that ...
