Re: Asking God to reveal himself?

On a personal note, I had, over the years, asked, demanded even, that God reveal Himself to me so that I could believe in Him. I had a tremendous amount of issues with God and the suffering of innocents ( which was for me the biggest stumbling block for me). I demanded, yes demanded, He reveal Himse...

Re: Richard Dawkins view of the "OT God"

If Dawkins is correct, then God would have destroyed him years ago. If God doesn't exist then Dawkins has spend much of his life raving and arguing against nothing. Either way, you have to kind of feel sorry for Dawkins when he goes on these silly tirades. Thank goodness he seems to have out grown t...

Re: For Those Who DON'T believe in God:

A person who doesn't believe God doesn't even exist is a person who ultimately thinks the belief is largely irrelevant - unless there are negative consequences to the atheist for the belief of others. But no Christian following the Bible would show hostility towards an unbeliever, or hate of despis...

Re: The Principle of Sufficient Reason (PSR)

Brute facts explain NOTHING. The attributes of the classical God explain why He is the answer. Yes, if there is a classical God that has these attributes, for instance being self-explaining, he is the answer. But the question if there is? I find that as unintelligible as a brute fact universe. Nils...

Re: Protestant v Catholic

The NT states: Luke 1:28 To say that Mary was simply like everyone else is incorrect. She was chosen to bring the Son of God into this world. Mary is NOT to be worshiped for this but she is to be revered for this. As for what I wrote above, I was expressing my option BUT it seems to make sense to me...

Re: Protestant v Catholic

Praying to the saints and Mary is a tricky one. We assume that Mary is not waiting on the resurrection since she was the Mother of Christ and holy. Now, we don't know that, but it can be assumed that may be the case, in which, praying for Mary to intercede for us with her Son is understandable. Pray...

Re: Princeton and Yale Psychiatrist on Demonic Possession

The catholic church keeps detailed records of exorcisms and has a specific process of dealing with them , so it makes sense that they would be the ones referenced in the article. Yes but many of the processes they use are man-made, not Biblical. So it would have no effect on demons. They even state...

Re: The Principle of Sufficient Reason (PSR)

You realize that, simply, the PSR means that humans have the rational ability to reasonably draw conclusions about the world they live in, even in an abstract sense.
To deny that is to deny basic science and the possibility of quantum physics.
