Raw Blues

Lightning Hopkins or Mississippi Fred McDowell Two of my favorites, along with the style started with Charly Patton, Son House, Robert Johnson, and early Muddy Waters. Sam Hopkins is part of the bridge between country acoustic blues and more modern electric texas blues. I have a whole book of his mu...

exclusive

Prove to me that other beliefs are not exclusive too. Islam is exclusive too. We can tolerate people of other beliefs, like being at peace, friendly and understanding toward them. We can't embrace their teaching though. They might all have some truth to them, but only Christianity has the whole trut...

receiving

I know we all talk about giving which is true, but there is also the receiving
of the greatest gift that Jesus gave us.
All we have to do is accept it.
Many in this world keeping refusing it.

Jesus People

I wonder if anyone know much about The Jesus People (JPUSA)?

If you live around Chicago I think you may have heard of them.

Glen Kaiser is an elder with them and I have one of his music cds.
Very good music, good message, but what about his life.

What Does Christmas mean to You?

On our church's Christmas Eve service I have been asked to do a brief talk
on What Christmas means to Me.

So I was hoping to ask some of you What Christmas Means to You?

I will post later more of what it means to me.

Re: Pro-choice

It not even so simple of when its considered to be a baby. Some believe its the moment sperm and egg get together. Science would probably tell you its just two specialized cells at this point. The Bible disagrees. (See Genesis 16:11; Psalm 139:13-16; and many others). Especially note Exodus 21:22-2...

Re: Pro-choice

bluesman, I have to simpler solutions. 1.) Thou shalt not commit adultery. 2.) In the case of rape, adoption. Simple enough? Murdering an innocent baby is never an answer. Yet in reality of our human order of things answers and solutions are never so simple. Yes I understand that God word tells us ...

Pro-choice

I am a christian who at least in part supports pro-choice. Yet I don't support abortion and view infanticide as the horrible sin that it is. Now more correctly I might say I am anti "anti-abortionists" At least the extreme ones who believe protesting and harassment outside abortion clinics...

I maybe post more late when I have some time.

I just wanted to say that I agree and understand with what
you are saying Michelle.

Love the Sinner hate the sin.

Protesting outside an abortion clinic is not the answer for sure.

whats important

I think others have voiced it in around about way. In debating over the how of the creation story we can over look the important lessons/teachings from the Garden of Eden. The whole thing is more about who then how. The Who of course being God. From my kids Bible books. "Who made the World?&quo...

sheol or hades?

I always thought Sheol meant grave in hebrew but now I think grave in hebrew is queber. Therefore Sheol is the place for departed souls/spirits. Hades is also a place for spirits, but like a local jail, those waiting judgement and sentence ie. "hell fire". Certainly if you believe in peopl...
