Re: Important question about God's silence and lack of mirac
Some examples of times when God did not seem to be doing much in the way of miracles: God did miracles and spoke around the time of the patriarchs,Abraham,Isaac and jacob,as well as Joseph to some extent. Then...400 years and no miracles. You will note that this was the time of basically the foundin...

Re: Important question about God's silence and lack of mirac
Answer to jlay The original question was, why are there less miracles now that in the time of the apostles. Your original answer seemed to say that Israel rejected the messiah, and that thus this was the end of the "kingdom age", that all the jews were to accept Jesus, and that they would ...

Re: Life in heaven
One thing about heaven, it won't be forever... What we know of heaven indicates that it is outside this speace/time contuum. There isn't really actual matter, or energy, or anything there, nor is there time, since time is a product of matter. God will supply an illusion of such for people who get th...

Re: Important question about God's silence and lack of mirac
Well, I have looked up "the basics of dispensational theology", the basic idea, that God treats different people in different times differently is a no brainer. The dispensational part (which there seems to be many varients on) is to divide these different time periods into hard rules that...

Re: Important question about God's silence and lack of mirac
Apologies if it came off sounding harsh, but some of what you said is different than some of what you are saying now, as the below shows (or at least it seemed that way at the time). The problem is that this verse also says that "he who believes in me," which implies that more than just th...

Re: I need answers : (
First, about the Genesis thing, actually, it is NOT just a story. If you go to the parent site, such as here http://www.godandscience.org/youngearth/genesis1.html and here http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/day-age.html you can see that Genesis and science are saying exactly the same thing. Th...

Re: Important question about God's silence and lack of mirac
BTW, there may be a problem with the original idea that stated this thread, that is, the basic premise that there were a lot of miracles in the early church, and that since then they have largly gone away. I don't see it, I first see a lot of miracles done by Jesus, then I see a lot of miracles done...

Re: Important question about God's silence and lack of mirac
One little question for you to consider, who does miracles? I mean, if an apostle "does a miracle", is it actually the apostle doing it? No, of course not, apostles are just men, and men do not have the power to do miracles (just ask Peter when he tried to walk on water). This means the on...

Re: Question about god and science?
BTW, here is a little bit of The Screptape Letters that is appropriet to this about "argument" and "pursuasive essay". Basically, no one today cares much, or thinks much, about argument, or reason, or logic, or anything anymore. It used to be taught in school (or so they tell me)...

Re: Question about god and science?
I love how you write all of your posts in the form of a persuasive essay. I could never do it! Well, I have learned how to make a classic 'argument". Why, here, you can actually see a clinic on how to argue (ok, and also how to NOT argue). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teMlv3ripSM But ...

Re: Important question about God's silence and lack of mirac
I've experienced god's miracles on a few occasions, and I'm a heathen theistic satanist so go figure. The first miracle occured when I was a Christian who had faith, but then they kept occuring when I became a Satanist, but god's miracles work in a myriad and miracolous ways. From seeing the true n...

Do miricles sometimes happen, yes http://www.godtube.com/watch/?v=922C0MNU Or maybe one of these http://www.google.com/search?q=%22focus+on+the+family+breaking+the+silence%22&hl=en&num=10&lr=&ft=i&cr=&safe=off&tbs=#hl=en&sugexp=ldymls&pq=%22focus%20on%20the%20fami...

Re: Bible and Science
^ Note: I did not down play any of the statments which you mentioned on your post. I only said that if he explained extremly in detail the creation of the universe as atheists demand, that the bible would be fat with accounts on creation and not the moral and ethic codes that god wishes us to live ...
