Dark Matter and the big bang

Hi guys I have just read an article on the Big Bang and how dark matter is causing problems with the theory. "Not only has it revealed that dark energy is the most powerful driving force in the expansion of the cosmos, but also most of it is made up of a completely unknown form of matter......B...

Dear All

Well as you can see from another post in this thread - I took the plunge literally and I certainly feel a lot better for it. Maybe there is a litttle mustard seed in me after all.

God Bless

Silvertusk.

Baptism

Hi Guys Just thought I let you know that I got baptised on Sunday. It was a wonderful experience. I found it more emotional than I thought and I was taken by surprise by that fact. At one point I couldn't sing cos I was so chocked and the tears just rolled down my cheek. It is certainly a day that I...

Quick Question

Does anybody know which verse contains the following?
"The Lord shine his face upon you and give you peace."

Or could somebody point me to a decent bible search engine that could find it for me.

Thankyou in Advance

Silvertusk.

Re: A new body every five years.

I had heard seven years and assumed it was true but didn't really care much as it seems unimportant. The number would have to be an average; bone, cartilage, and other parts must exchange more slowly than muscle, skin, and hair. I hope it wasn't one of the higher items on the list. It would be more...

Hi Silvertusk, I have a couple of comments, and please don't take them the wrong way. Firstly, doubting is natural, and it does not matter who or what you are, you will have doubts sometimes. I have not spoken to anyone who do not sometimes have doubts. There were people that saw Jesus perform mira...

A new body every five years.

I read in this book, "101 reasons to Believe" that the atoms in the human body replace themselves every 5 years. In essence the total sum of our body is not the same physical person that we are five years ago. Now if this i indeed true, how do we still retain memory of who we are? Are we i...

I guess you have to look at it from a Time point of view. God in our linear timeline (i.e. Jesus) did die. But because God exists outside of our timeline as well he was able to see himself die and ressurect himself. That is the way I think about it. Did God die - Yes. For those of you who say God ca...

Help me find my mustard seed

Hi everyone. Something happened to me over the last couple of days that has left me in a little bit of a turmoil. I am to be baptised at the end of this month and I had my first preparation session wih my minister last night. It was then that I realised how weak my faith really was. He asked me whet...

Thankyou That does make sense However, and maybe again this is a more protestant view - but why do you need saints to interceed for us. Jesus taught us that you can pray directly to God. Also that still doesn't address the matter of the coronation of Mary - where is that mentioned in the Bible? Than...

Thankyou Veronica This does clear up a few matters. The honouring you Mother and father approach does sort of make sense. I understand where you are coming from with the concept of honour - for example I can certainly honour the teachings of Paul and Peter while worshipping Jesus. I ask these questi...

Rome

Just recently come back from Rome for my honeymoon and I have to say that it is an impressive city. The churches however, although impressive did creep me out a little. I am not a catholic so this might be the reason - but I was slightly unnerved by the overwhelming adoration of Mary they openly dis...

Hi Silvertusk, I think this is a great question, one of the more deeper ones that I have read on this board. It has been hanging around in my head for awhile now and I find it interesting that no one has posted an answer to such an important question. I would think every Christian would have had so...

Finally, I also want to make clear that I strictly believe that the Bible IS 100% self-consistent. I think you're wrong in your assertion to the contrary, and perhaps that is a major hurdle for you. If the Bible DOES appear to be inconsistent, then the failing is in our understanding, not in the Bi...
