Re: Predestination and prayer

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himsel...

I hope you paid 255 dollars? You can't miss such an opportunity
Something got messed up with the first two times that I sent $255, so I sent them another $255, just to be safe. I want to be sure that I'll get my fortune.

Re: The Olivet Discourse

Don't know why the last of the post above is all bolded? When copy and pasting scripture, sometimes within the text [a], , and [c] are used to denote footnotes. I bet there's a and/or a [/b ] somewhere in what you copied. I'll bet that's exactly what it is. Look how my text is bolded. I actually pu...

Re: I'm rich. Now what do I do?

A quick update... The wife and I are still waiting for the promised funds to arrive. I didn't think it would take this long, seeing that it was an "official" email. Pending our fortune, we just bought a Bentley. We were able to use our fortune as collateral. We promised to pay for the car as soon as...

Re: Tucker Carlson is right about some stuff!?!?

I never expected to say that, but I agree with a good deal of what he says here . It's an interesting read. Who are you, and what have you done with Ed? Kidding aside, Tucker Carlson is one of the only guys on Fox that I can stomach for any length of time. He's reasonable, practical, and isn't near...

Re: Why i believe in a young earth by ex-evolutionist Dr.Grady McMurtry

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. It's wrong when we Christians hold a belief about something that leads to an us against them mentality. When we've reached the point of pitting ourselves against anyone who doesn't hold to our beliefs, we've already lost sight of our real purpose in life. ...

Re: Support Gay Marriage Cakes

It is both legally and ethically wrong to refuse to sell a cake to someone because he is gay. We do have a right to refuse to make a cake that promotes something we believe is morally wrong. There is difference between what a baker sells and who he sells it to. You're absolutely correct! One proble...

Re: Why i believe in a young earth by ex-evolutionist Dr.Grady McMurtry

Let's see if I can list some of the things I found wrong in only the first 4 1/2 minutes of the first video. I'll try to quote as best I can, but I wrote down the quotes as I was listening to the video. I'll put the time that each quote appeared in the video. 1) :35 mark: He said he's a "teaching mi...

Re: Why i believe in a young earth by ex-evolutionist Dr.Grady McMurtry

Stu, I got halfway through the first video, and couldn't watch anymore. I kept thinking that I'd rather sit through an endless loop of Pain and Gain , while sticking bamboo under my fingernails, while walking on a bed of hot coals. I've seen some pretty bad YEC "arguments", but this guy is the wors...

Re: Is Christianity and Belief in God RATIONAL?

As with any argument, I think the obvious first step is to understand what the argument actually says. That way we're not wasting time arguing for or against a strawman. And from what I'm reading about Aquinas' 5 ways, it seems that a lot of people arguing against the 5 ways don't take the time to u...
