Re: Bob Savage and the Anti-Christian world

Amyjo, don't you know, all Christians are narrow-minded, bigots, and homophobes. Oh don't you know, don't you know... :dancing: :dancing:

Let's all sing along to the tune of Shooting Star by Bad Company.

Don't you know that you are a homo-phobe,

Don't you know, don't you know... 8-}2

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

2 Corinthians 11:4 4 For if [a]one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully. Is this a warning against another Jesus, or the same Jesus that ...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

Let me try an analogy, not sure how helpful it is but I'll try it anyway. Let's say you're walking down the street and bump into a man. You glance at the man and think "Wow, that's George Bush!" You chase the man down in the hopes of getting an autograph, only to learn that he only looked...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

Jlay, Mormonism claims to believe in the same Jesus of Nazareth, that the bible speaks of too. But, then they add their revelation to Joseph Smith, and that's their Jesus. Same Jesus? Where do you draw the line? Did Judas believe in a different Jesus? Did Judas believe the Jesus he walked with, and ...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

Who is Allah? The way I see it, is there are three choices. 1). Allah is just another name for the God of the bible. 2). Allah is a demon, or possibly Satan himself, who desires to put himself in place of God, and wants man to worship himself. 3). Allah is a false god, created by someone who is tryi...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

. For instance, some believe that faith in Christ will save; others believe that faith plus works will save. Both believe in the same Christ--the two just have two different soteriological beliefs concerning His work. I disagree. If you could actually find someone who admits that faith plus works s...

Re: Bob Savage and the Anti-Christian world

Beany, you have to remember, homosexual acts are sins that people(Christian and nonChristian alike), can see as a worse sin than other sins, so we can feel better about ourselves, and our own sin. Those who hold homosexual sin as a worse sin than another sin, may, without realizing it, do so, becaus...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

Assuming Allah is a demon, Rick, you would be correct (I've seen some arguments for that. I'm undecided). But you would have to admit, using that argument, that they believe that they are talking about the same God. So just appealing to one being Triune and the other Unitarian (for instance) is not...

Yes twinc. I know some YECs believe Everest was created from a global flood.

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

And let me throw a monkey wrench into everything I said above. Suppose that Allah is actually the name taken on by a demon that deceived Muhammad. Then, at least, Muhammad would have been talking about the demon while thinking he was talking about God. For the demon would be shown to be impersonati...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

But Rick, both your description and Protestant's both mean that Christians and Jews don't worship the same God. The Jewish God is Unitarian and has no son either. Yet, most Christians won't hesitate to tell you that they worship the same God as the Jews. Personally I'd say that Paul is closest to m...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

The muslim god is unitarian, isn't he.
The God of the bible, is Trinitarian.

The Muslim God has no son.
The God of the bible, is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

That alone, shows me that they're two different Gods.

Re: Several questions concerning the fall and evil

Mag, here's what Byblos said on another thread, about anthropomorphism: It's called anthropomorphism. We ascribe human qualities to God in order for us to relate to and make sense of Him. It does not mean God is actually angry, disappointed, or surprised in any way. Mag, I assure you, if you're pati...
