Re: HAS Noah's Ark Been Found? Dr. Norman Geisler Believed So!

Was just reading Matthew Henry's take on Psalm 104 - he took the boundary line to mean that this boundary was set after the flood (https://www.biblestudytools.com/comment ... s/104.html).

Re: HAS Noah's Ark Been Found? Dr. Norman Geisler Believed So!

It would seem, however, that Psalm 104 denies a global flood. As the Psalmist wrote, “You set a boundary that they [the waters] may not pass over, so that they will not return to cover the earth” (Ps. 104:9). Here are some views on both sides: http://www.evidenceunseen.com/articles/science-and-scrip...

Re: HAS Noah's Ark Been Found? Dr. Norman Geisler Believed So!

Rick: I find it difficult to believe that someone can believe in an old earth, AND a global flood. You say he has the data on his webpage, that lead to that belief? No, the evidences he links all concern the find on Ararat. I do not know why he accepts both - I'll have to research it. But knowing G...

Re: HAS Noah's Ark Been Found? Dr. Norman Geisler Believed So!

Just to emphasize, Geisler believed in an old earth / universe and thought the Scriptural support for a young earth to be very poor. And yet he believed in a global flood. And I can guarantee you he intensely and comprehensively sifted all of the variables and available data. And he clearly heard al...

DB: I do not usually quote AIG in my posts, but I think it is significant that an organization that supports the Young Earth/Global Flood tradition has the following to say regarding the NAMI discovery https://answersingenesis.org/noahs-ark/ ... een-found/ Although we would be delighted if the Ark ...

Using Reason as a Bridge to God

Many wrongly think discovering God is merely a blind faith thing that ignores reason. This author says that reason alone can lead one to discover God. But they have to be honest with what there reason indicates: https://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2019/july-august/reason-lead-god-joshua-rasmussen.h...

Re: HAS Noah's Ark Been Found? Dr. Norman Geisler Believed So!

No one can speculate upon what a huge, boat-shaped object, with massive timbers dating to the time of Noah, encrusted in ice and rocks, far above the treeline, withing the area the Bible says the Ark came to rest - well, what could it be? It would be impossible to build something of that size, or to...

15 Myths of Bible Translations

Of course, there are many more such myths, but here's a nice listing of some of the most prominent ones - by Bible scholar Daniel B. Wallace: https://danielbwallace.com/2012/10/08/fifteen-myths-about-bible-translation/ And here are five more myths noted by Wallace: https://danielbwallace.com/2012/12...

Re: What did Jesus mean with the following statement?

Stu, I hope you are reading more than just the KJV - because there is much to be gained from comparing versions. I particularly like the NASB and the ESV translations. The ESV probably has the best footnotes and additional understandings of the Bible than any other. AS for the passage, Jesus is quit...

Re: HAS Noah's Ark Been Found? Dr. Norman Geisler Believed So!

LOL, DB - I had forgotten about that discussion. But none of that explains how a massive, multi-roomed wooden structure, with a bow, of the right age just happens to sit within the narrow geographic area the Bible states. It would be impossible to build something like that, or for ancients to have d...

HAS Noah's Ark Been Found? Dr. Norman Geisler Believed So!

Dr. Norman Geisler believed that there is tremendous evidences to beliving Noah's Ark has been found. As I was thinking about theologian Norman Geisler's recent passing, I was also thinking about his claim of a few years ago, that he believed Noah's Ark had been found and he linked from his website...

Re: Abortion Debate

Paul: What it seem sis being said here, basically, is the right to choose trumps the right to live. Someone's right to choose supersedes something's right to live. So the question is, is there are right to live? Does a baby have a right to live and if yes, why and if NO, why. Now, there is a can of...

Philip: What if He is unlike what YOU think He should be? Ken: My reaction would probably be the same as yours. Well, first off, I would expect God to be far above our understandings and logic - as I can't see perfectly see ALL of the past and ALL of the future - which changes everything when you r...

Re: Many Atheists DO Believe in the Supernatural

Ken - my point about a supernatural beings are that demons are such beings - course they aren't God or gods - but according to the Bible they can masquerade as such, deceiving people into believing that false gods are real - just as demonic power empowered Pharaoh's magicians, or they oppress or pos...
