Re: Anybody else like NCIS?

This show is one of my favorites too. I wish Lauren Holly didn't leave the show though.

How about Mickey Blue Eyes, My Blue Heaven, and the Naked Gun movies? The others mentioned are great too.

Re: Need some advice

Gab, It sounds to me like you've got a good head on your shoulders. The best advice I have for you is first and foremost, find yourself a good Bible based church that you can get yourself plugged into. Be an active member of the church, don't just sit on the sidelines. Remember church is not a spect...

Re: Need some advice

Gabrielman, Read through 1 Corinthians 7, Paul gives the pros and cons of marriage vs being single. I wouldn't put so much pressure on yourself to find a wife. You're still very young. Get involved with singles functions at a church and that sort of thing. Form good solid friendships with both male ...

Re: Help finding text in Bible that's similar to Desiderata poem

Good poem. It does sound like some Proverbs. You could try doing some searches on blueletterbible.org or download and install e-sword bible software. Both have some good search tools that might help you find what you're looking for.

Re: Question on forgiveness:

Great answers everyone. Why do you suppose most people think that you have to earn salvation through works? Is it something that stems from our upbringing? I remember my father saying that "there is no such thing as a free lunch". Perhaps incorrect teaching from a church? I have heard so m...

Re: Obama's Health Plan

their arguments vary but for one reason or another they are against any solution that has a chance of ever being implemented that would provide medical care for all Americans If the solutions that are being proposed are anything like Obama care then I understand why. insisting the government is evi...

Re: Omniscience and free will

Forgive me, I'm trying to fully understand the question. Are you asking if God has free will and is omniscient?
I believe God is omniscient and has free will.
He didn't have to create us - free will.
God knows all things - omniscience.

Re: understanding the Holy Bible

if anyone has any insights on the word translated Know in 1 John 5:13, I'd love to hear them. I have had a hard time even finding a concordance that notes this word, and gives any information, definition, application, etc. I got this from Strong's, maybe it will help. Re: Obama's Health Plan

I'm sorry that reminding you of the millions of suffering and dying people in this country Where are these millions you are referring too? I would think there would be some sort of news report if there were millions suffering and dying. Christian right's efforts to maintain a system that doesn't be...

Re: Obama's Health Plan

I still strongly believe that ObamaCare is not the right way to go for this country. We are the greatest country in the world and I have to believe that we are capable of coming up with a plan that is beneficial to all CITIZENS of this country. Whether Obama and his peeps can do it or not, I don't k...

Re: Important scripture vital to new Christians?

Verses that come to mind for me are: (All taken from the ESV) But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matt. 6:33 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Pro. 3:5 Behold, God is my salvation; I will ...

I'm sorry about your situation, nd. But, I'm glad there were no complications! We aren't expecting any. Everything has been fine so far, but you never know, obviously, what can happen in the delivery room. Thanks for the sentiment, it was a long time ago, the boy is paid off, lol. Another friend of...

Age, I stand corrected on you not doing anything other than complaining and I apologize for it. Sounds like you are definitely doing your share and I commend you for that. I'm not angry with you or anyone else for that matter, I just thought you came across in a harsh manner to a young girl (I belie...
