Re: The Toolbox argument against Intelligent Design

What can non-intelligent, blind, random things do? First, can they create themselves ? Can they think, see, organize, strategize, position themselves or other things, see advantages or opportunities? Of course not! But what exists shows designs, organization, and adherence of spectacular consistenc...

Re: The Toolbox argument against Intelligent Design

The argument generally put forward by those like Dembski, Meyer and Behe are against forms of Darwinian evolution where there is a pure dependance upon natural selection acting upon random mutations. The downfall of such ID figureheads are that they allowed the umbrella to stretch far and wide and ...

Re: Christian Counselor

Actually, people should search for and find a trained Christian that has BOTH - credentialed counseling training and Scriptural foundations. As they are both very important. A lot of people unfortunately go to pastors or preachers who don't have the necessary training in counseling, and so they can...

Re: The truth about Abortion

I find it interesting that a woman can have the right to abort a child, as well as having the man pay child support and be more likely to get away with tricking a man into such things, like poking holes in condoms. As far as I'm aware the man has little to no say in such matters, but we're supposed...

Re: The Toolbox argument against Intelligent Design

Evolution by natural selection does NOT require an "intelligence" behind it since the "selection" process is "automatic". I agree but there are some persons that claim that the existence of animals and plants are an inidcation of an intelligent creator. Do you believe such things are an indicator t...

I'm surprised Rubio hadn't heard of him. ;) Rubio handled it all poorly and didn't come out looking great.

Re: Is Alex Jones out of his mind?

What Ed said i.e., cost him a huge revenue stream. People lose the plot and kill for less than when others take their livelihood. It wouldn't suprise me if he stormed through Silicon Valley targeting Google and claiming its a justified war for freedom. I wonder what army he could muster given his fo...

Re: The truth about Abortion

How did you go from: God judging mankind for sin and pouring out his righteous wrath upon such... To: God terminating pregnancies... ??? lol. I lost track for a bit. But, I think my argument was along the lines of this question i.e., "is there any justification for terminating pregnancies ?" and so...

Re: The truth about Abortion

How did you go from: God judging mankind for sin and pouring out his righteous wrath upon such... To: God terminating pregnancies... ??? Here's a better thought perhaps, maybe we should finish the job and wipe ourselves from the earth. Let it heal, let the animals and nature have it back. Who would ...

Re: An actual case of Christian persecution in America?

Persecution as I see is being told to convert, stop praying or have physical ramifications such as being tossed in jail, beaten, beheaded, stoned, tossed from a building, etc. Gay people are persecuted for example in Saudi Arabia, as well as Christians and Atheists. That's about where I am. I suppo...

Re: An actual case of Christian persecution in America?

I'm wondering, what the real point is Rick? The point of what? The point of the guy trying to make his employees go to bible study? The point of my posting a thread about it? Firstly, this isn't persecution. It's not like the non-Christian is being fed to lions, the Christian is just an ass. At lea...

Re: The Principle of Sufficient Reason (PSR)

Now, what got me coming back to see where this thread ended, is that Shapiro recently treated his subscribers to a discussion with Ed Feser. It's a real treat and entirely appropriate to this thread and the discussions before it. Ed unpacks certain arguments of Aquinas, and delves into PSR around 10...
