Re: Be Fruitful and Multiply

My wife tells me she looks after five kids, but we've only had four so I don't know what she's on about.

Re: Adam’s rib

All people have sinned and are affected by the sin of Adam... regardless of their genetic ancestry. And Christ died to save all people... regardless of their genetic ancestry. There is no Scriptural correlation between a person's genetic relationship to Adam and either their participation in the co...

Re: Adam’s rib

I wonder, for those who show a fondness for a pre-Adamic race, isn't racism to some degree justified? Short answer... no. As I mentioned above genetics tells us that all humans (independent of race) are all descendants of common ancestors in Africa. So there is no justification for racism of any so...

Re: Adam’s rib

I wonder, for those who show a fondness for a pre-Adamic race, isn't racism to some degree justified? It seems it would be hard to reconcile promises of God, indeed Christ, with those who belong to a non-Adamic race that had no fall nor covenant with God. Excluded from the story in the beginning of ...

Re: Asking God to reveal himself?

Hi Nils, your story is similar to my own story, only the question I asked was different. You may find my story on this forum, but here is very short version. I was born atheist, but always longed for the truth. Also always tried to be honest. One day missionaries came into my life and after that it...

Re: Justices side with Colorado baker on same-sex wedding cake

Yet, to say someone's services should be state enforcable, for ANY reason, to me rings of slavary and that we're all -- all people in that state -- are ultimately state property rather than truly free. This I strongly resist and disagree with. Your house is state property. Your property taxes are "...

Re: Did we choose God or did God choose us? Your personal testimony...

Short careful response there. ;) You'd think God pursuing us would be irresistable. This would be one area I'd disagree with many Calvinists on, afterall who could possibly resist God? So then, given only some are saved, God must necessarily "elect" some to be saved, and those God elects He pursues,...

Re: Justices side with Colorado baker on same-sex wedding cake

K, If I'm reading you correctly, you're saying that you'd rather a company be able to refuse service to someone who is black for example, because they are black, without the govt. interfering? Perhaps the social outcry against the company would be enough to keep companies from this kind of behavior...

Re: Justices side with Colorado baker on same-sex wedding cake

So then, I gather that is a "yes" to my question. That is, you ultimately believe in state enforced servitude under certain circumstances (i.e., where not providing a service is due to discriminatory beliefs)?

Re: The Principle of Sufficient Reason (PSR)

A final comment. Sometimes atheists ask: What is the cause of God? According to Aristoteles/Feser’s view this isn’t a valid question. However, I think that a valid question could be: Why is there a God and a world rather than nothing? If there is nothing there isn’t necessarily any God. I could not...

Re: Justices side with Colorado baker on same-sex wedding cake

There is a big difference between what is socially acceptable vs what should be state enforced. Phil, in your distinction would you find acceptable the state arresting someone for refusing their service to another under some circumstances then? I think we all here agree with the obvious that prejudi...

Chimpanzees have strong moral feelings about fairness for instance.
Is their moral objective or subjective?
