Re: Is impeachment and removal from office possible? What would it take?

That's not happening. I suppose you could spend time arguing that it would hypothetically be racist if it was real, but that doesn't seem like a good use of time. Besides, you'd still be wrong. "Foreigner" and "US citizen" are not races, so allowing foreigners to enter the US illegally would not be...

Re: Two Mosque Mass Shootings in Christchurch, NZ

Only Muslims aren't the enemy. The guys involved have more in common with ISIS than the Muslim men, women and children they shot.

Coward. If he had balls, he would have gone fight ISIS. Shooting random Muslim people is stupidity.

Re: Are Atheists Associated with Genocides?

What does each ideology encourage? Where do such lead if consistently applied? If we're talking Islam, Christian, Atheism... I'd trust a consistent Atheist, much more than a consistent Muslim. I'd trust a consistent Christian more than a consistent Atheist. Why? Because a consistent Atheist is their...

Re: Abortion Debate

Kurieus, you say that this view in inconsistent but you don’t explain why. It is is not a clear cut black and white rule but very few rules are and that doesn’t make them inconsistent. .... Besides, is which way is my view above a world view? You would call yourself a Materialist would you not? Mor...

Re: Is impeachment and removal from office possible? What would it take?

Abe is carefully and tactfully assassinated in such a way it would appear as foolishness to come to his defense, which is btw Byblos why it is hard to mod the often carefully crafted attacks against him that Ed does. BUT, for all his QAnon and even awkward statements, there are some diamonds in the ...

Re: Women in church

There is a natural arugment to be made to "adam" being the headship of creation, and "adamah" who came from "adam". This is the argument Paul appears to be making in saying men were created first. The order of creation therefore is one where man is the head and leader, the one ultimately responsibil...

Re: Women in church

I haven't looked hard into the relevant passages, as I've never had someone really take a hard position against women teaching in a church. Or, perhaps, never really had it out with someone. I'd considered such very old school, perhaps had by those in the distant past who also wouldn't want women vo...

Re: Women in church

K: So then, if Phil is saying that a woman shouldn't have authority over men in a church, I'd agree -- because I do one better than that and say neither should a man have such authority if it is defined as "having power over." OK, I was going to drop my input - don't want to argue. But merely doubl...

Re: Abortion Debate

See what I mean, inconsistent worldview.

To test consistency further, I wonder what your thoughts are Nils on selectivr infanticide? Should parents be able to terminate a newborn upon finding out it has significant disability?

Re: Women in church

People lead via it being demanded or commanded. Someone who is respected will be esteemed and so gain a certain level of authority ie being looked up to and opinion valued. The moment one starts declaring this person and that person is a "leader" and so YOU WILL RESPECT THEIR AUTHORITY, is the momen...

Re: Women in church

There is a woman pastor in my church (Baptist), she water baptised me in fact. However, to me "pastor' feels masculine. That said, I've had.no issues with her preaching. In fact, she's been quite good whenever she's spoken. Which is an accomplishmet for either man or woman as I'm quite critical. ;) ...

Re: Women in church

I did stop, but I didn't say I don't go to a church. Also, didn't say I hold churches per se in low esteem. OK - don't mind me then  I thought you said something about not having got around to going to church again. Yes, I have many years ago been quite down on churches, but I really also dis...
