Re: The Thread Where Off-Topic is On Purpose and A-Okay!

Guess her name was the compromise pick? :P Actually, I may have first picked that screen name here, and I've been using it ever since, though most often as "thebrokenkateliz"; you'd be surprised how many use "kateliz" now, but I'm always the only "thebrokenkateliz". &q...

Re: The Thread Where Off-Topic is On Purpose and A-Okay!

Wow, a voice from the past. How the heck are you KateLiz? Has it really been 11 years? Good to see you back. Hey Byblos; yeah it's been nearly eleven years since I last posted, maybe since I last logged in. I was surprised that I got the password correct. It's amazing to see someone from those good...

She's so elusive... :troll:

I'll bet she could hide effectively for a really long time -- like eleven years or so. :ewink:

Re: All Dogs Go To Heaven

Definitely loved the Catholic responses, especially the rocks one. I can just imagine all the people seeing it without knowing what was going on. lol

But I do wonder about the first. Was that just for attention? Or just being silly as the rest were?

Re: Kingdom of the Cults

lol Wow, four years for a response. Thanks, ageofknowledge. I wasn't even aware that a second edition came out. Will have to look into that. Btw, I like your name. True as it is, we're certainly no age of wisdom, being also the Laodicean Age. And that gets me down in some way every single day. Our k...

God Replaces Dogs

Earth is to be redeemed, yes, but how and when? I think it makes sense that it's to be in the millennial kingdom. After all, God said that all will be restored to the conditions of Eden, which was before the Fall which made Creation what it currently is. Christ will come after the earth gets ravaged...

Mosquitos in Heaven

lol Oops. I'm not one for delving into exegesis without looking at the context, (because that's stupid, of course,) but you caught me! y#-o I apologize for contributing to this discussion in basically willful ignorance. I am glad that it brought about B.W.'s study, however, (thank you for that, B.W....

Demonic Dogs

"The spirit of man goes upward, to be judged, and is then fixed in an unchangeable state of happiness or misery. It is as certain that the spirit of the beast goes downward to the earth; it perishes at death." ~Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary Looking at Ecc. 3:21 again makes it clear to...

Clarification

I really can appreciate the concern expressed. I know how it looks to others and years ago would myself have thought someone like what I've shared was kooky, dangerous, most likely somehow unbiblical, (even if I couldn't pin-point how for the moment,) boastful, (or claiming a "higher spirituali...

My "God"

I know that I need not be, but calling calling the same Father whom you, I would assume, also worship, "'God,'" actually offends me. How is it so strange that He should be involved in my life on such levels? Why is such an abhorrently disgusting idea as God NOT being involved in His Childr...

Where is the Line Drawn? Personal Experience Shared

First of all I'd like to say that I'm writing this here because I found my old comments on this thread by searching Google for my screen name, (funny, isn't it?). Sorry if it's not in the best location to say what I'm about to say, but it directly relates to what I had said so long ago about the unf...

Re: Is there any thing in the Bible that suggests that a woman..

Well now I'll really have to dig into that site, because how I and everyone I know read those verses says that the head-covering was likened unto hair, and that they weren't just talking about hair. But I'm trusting you guys on this, and am rather glad about this interpretation, actually. :) I...

Re: Is there any thing in the Bible that suggests that a woman..

I was suprised to see the emails alerting me that these old threads are still active. :) I've posted here maybe once or twice in the last, what, year or so. But after reading this revived thread again am thinking an online Christian community would be nice to have in my life again. Much has happened...

:? And I don't consider my own self "judging" IMO. Sin is sin is sin, and why am I getting the third degree just because I called it such? If I go further I'll only invoke more negative responses. This is part of why I left the forums. I got tired of these never-ending struggles that didn'...

And Vash, to try to answer your question, I do not consider it dishonouring according to those verses. You are to obey her in Christ because obedience towards God-given authority is obedience to God, but with regards to sins, I don't see it as wrong to recognize them in our parents. And if recognize...
