Well, I agree that it is not Christian to reject empiric evidence of the nature of the world around us, but I have yet to see hard evidence *against* ToE here (or anywhere else, for that matter). Mostly what I see are questions regarding missing evidence or mechanisms, neither of which is actual ev...

The problem with prophets is that they claim to be prophets. Don't slander the Pope.

30 minutes with the Catechism does not an understanding of Catholics make. Actually, apart from reading a book directly comparing Church approved statements with Bible verses I probably did only spend thirty minutes or so on the Catechism. Maybe more, but since I'm not sure I won't claim it! Howeve...

You are for sinking down to this personal level. Then again, it's expected for one who supports legalizing illegal drugs, prostitution, and relishes in committing crimes.
Leave him alone or you're banned.

Frank, this is right on target! I have never understood why some Christians find it necessary to disbelieve evolution. In my mind, this is a form of religious and spiritual arrogance; to say that any of us knows how God should have created nature, and to say to others that their concept of God's wa...

I don't know Kelly, the processes defined in the ToE seem too sophisticated to not have something even more fundamental, a theory of fundamental biology so to speak, that explains exactly why the mechanism in the ToE can produce such successful results. It goes against probability, it goes against p...

Oil? Please, oil had little to do with it.

The exact reasoning? Probably to jumpstart the peace process in the middle east. The United States has huge leverage now that they have close ties with Iraq, and Israel.

And is it any different for heterosexuality?

Lust is a sin, but seeing a woman and thinking she is beautiful isn't. A homosexual can supress all sinful activity, but how can they supress how their body responds to stimuli?

I agree that this is getting a bit off topic, but the reason I used the example of the economy is that, as a whole, it is not guided by direct human input. (Otherwise, recessions would not occur, and everything could be controlled by human forces.) It is not a seamless whole, as components of it co...

Protestant view hands down. And I'm living proof, so there. :P
Well, cool.

It's just the issue of not-changing = sin.
Temptation isn't a sin.

Giving in to temptation is.

dan, hope your family is okay. yes, we had no business there, but God can always bring good even from the actions of the foolish. Bush had every right to go in there and kick ass. He should've secured the border so terrorist groups couldn't get into the country first though. Whatever, all is good n...

The reason the economy evolves is because of intelligent input from humans. It is far different from evolution which is a mindless, blind process as opposed to the process that produces new technology that is propelled by intelligent thought. The economy is a bad example anyway, it's a seamless whol...

Technically, the laws of nature themselves are supernatural as they cannot explain themselves (like a husband who arrives home at 3am  ). So the creation of the natural is a supernatural event, orchestrated by none other than God himself. It's also probable that life cannot be explained by natu...
