Re: Is there a spiritual explanation for this?

That's an interesting article, and I really enjoy reading about brain research. Directly related to this is the experiences of some people who go through extreme stress, the experience of going out of their bodies and looking at them from above. When I worked with domestic violence victims, I was t...

Re: Inaccurate Judgement?

Being saved by grace is pretty much black-and-white, which is great (we are not saved by a graded curve). But, people will be rewarded differently in heaven, I guess based on their level of obedience (I can't find the verse right now for that). Also, while to me it doesn't seem as clear biblically,...

Ok, but could you explain your previous post more then, the one I had commented on. It seems to mean the opposite of what you just wrote.

Re: Religulous Movie (Oct. 2008)

There's all kinds of persecution in the world today, especially in the Asian and Middle Eastern countries. Voice of the Martyrs and International Christian Concern are an organizations that report on it and help the persecuted. It doesn't matter if we're persecuted against by a person or a governme...

Re: Evolution observed in bacteria?

Yes, thanks for responding. You sound like you would disagree, then, with Francis Collins in his The Language of God . I could not agree with him because of what you said - it doesn't make sense to me that God would not be involved with us until some certain point in evolution. I don't have a label...

Re: Religulous Movie (Oct. 2008)

What do you mean it may affect Christians? Just wondering. I would be offended, as I already am. But I saw that he was putting down all, or at least main-stream, religion. I suppose we might get some persecution in our direction after this comes out, but Jesus said if we are really Christians we sh...

Re: Evolution observed in bacteria?

OK. Maybe I'm not understanding some of the posts here. Rich has some articles on the subject, and when I did a search this one came out on top: http://www.godandscience.org/evolution/evolution.html

How many here agree with this?

Re: Speaking in tongues.

I have just ordered this book now. I had another experience of charismatic prayer last night and again it really freaked me out. There was people falling over, grunting - almost howling, wailing and tongues. I felt very uncomfortable and had to leave - which was probably a little bad as I was one o...

Re: Aborted Fetuses?

I'm sorry I didn't do quotes, but I was responding in the latter paragraphs to those who don't believe in heaven or hell, or when you get to wherever you're going after you die. There was a lot of that discussion on the previous page.

Re: Evolution observed in bacteria?

I've been reading a lot lately about ID, evolution, and creationists. I have not seen the distinction that you guys have put forward - that YEC are the ones who mostly promote micro vs macro evolution. I've seen it all over in OEC literature that I've read. I'm not a biologist, but it seems to me t...

Re: Religulous Movie (Oct. 2008)

I watched the trailer, but not the interview. Just another stab at religion that will make all the atheists have something to talk about over their lattes, but probably nothing more. We can pray that that guy, Maher or whatever, will have a conversion experience after the film is released. Now that...

Re: Aborted Fetuses?

I came back to this board with a question, and found it got quite strange! y:O2 My question relates to the age of accountability issue. I have difficulty with this because it seems to me that if God knew us even before we were born, if we died before we were adults he would know already who accepts...

Re: God's Omniscience: Abraham And Isaac

Yes, and could it be too that it is a strong example for everyone that follows, just like the actions and fate of Ananias and Sapphira are strong examples for us? The story of Abraham and Isaac does seem like a foreshadowing as well, since God gave his only son in sacrifice of our sins. I wonder wh...

Re: New Bible translation promotes fornication

Almost there! one more push , here comes the head.... y(:| That is so sad and scary. Can you imagine if there're people in the world out there reading that translation, that that is what they'll think Christianity is all about? The religion of complacent knuckleheads. I guess for every thing that c...
