The DaVinci Code is a GOOD thing!

I've heard so much about the DaVinci Code and Atheist propaganda, and I see a lot of panic about how this will affect vunerable youths. But I see the DaVinci Code movie as good for Christianity. What I mean by this could use an example: For the last year and a half, I've been fascinated with the JFK...

Actually, keep it simple or you'll loose people. An overview should sufficient, and specifics are for anyone who likes to look into it further. Well, I needed to know details about "formless and void" because I have a teaching technique where I use the markerboard as a visual aide. Drawin...

The article Jac gave you should be enough to give you many insights. I've read it. It helped a lot! Great job! A main point to highlight is the change in perspective of Genesis 1:2 where the Spirit of God is hovering over Earth's surface. Therefore when it is dark, it is evidently only dark on Eart...

That's one thing I always found magnificent (philosophically speaking)!

How much Jesus emphasized that the Law could be manipulated by people who think they can avoid sin by following the Law to the letter but not the spirit. This stresses the desperate need for a savior like Christ.

I would like to say something...I know a lot of women Christians who are pro-life, and I think that saying that it's about men controlling women's bodies is garbage (even though that was in fact the case in the early anti-abortion movements of the nineteenth century).

Being willing to go through the pain and not asking to be killed, in my opinion, is a righteous thing. Assisted suicide can have a demoralizing effect on the family (however, depending on the situation, it can be an uplifting thing for the family). That's what Grandma did: she went through it all .....

Nothing should be banned from the Bible! The Law had a purpose and it was good! I'm not quite sure how one gets around the passage in Romans 1. It ain't easy, but but if one tries his best to to be objective and to put it into proper context (and if God hasn't hardened that person's heart), anything...

Darwin, I personally believe that homosexuality, along with homosexual acts, are not sinful in the slightest. I firmly believe that all anti-gay feelings (that have become synonymous with Christianity) have no basis in the Bible, and that anti-gay arguments based on the Bible hold no water. Of cours...

Another thing…I've seen many translations of Genesis 1, and the article “The Literal Interpretation of the Genesis One Creation Account” emphasis that there's a conjunction (“and”) after Genesis 1:1, which links it with 1:2. I would like to know if this “and” exists in the original Hebrew. There'...

Kurieuo, not only did I read it, and understand the point you were making, I also used to personally believe what you're saying(!). But I've changed my views, because the Bible can be so open to interpretation, that you have no choice but to look at the Bible like a lawyer gathering info in order to...

I wish I could give a full reply, seeing as this is my thread...but I told the others I would drop the subject. I will say good job for seeing stuff that I missed. I always have pro-polygamy, pro-sex-out-of-wed-lock arguments, but I always figured that the burden of proof belongs to the accusers. I'...

Thanks. I would also like some other info for my presentation. I would like to know how to spell and pronounce some forms of Aramaic and Greek. I've only found a few Aramaic sites and I can't contact them. I just figured it would make me look cool. For example, Jesus Christ(the messiah) would be Yes...

Day 4

I've been in a History of World Religion class for a few months now. We're finished Hinduism and we're now on Buddhism. Since I've started the class, my teacher (as careful with his wording as he may be) has been making comments that make Christianity un-unique and in the realm of myth, where it doe...

Well, "Ask a Rabbi" didn't respond to my question about abortion. But I went to aish.com to find what the official position is. There was one article: ABORTION - YES OR NO? From: - anonymous@hotmail.com 2/5/2000 Well, I never thought it would happen to me. I'm pregnant. And now I don't kno...
