No, why would I? How'd you show that it fails?

Re: No such thing as a "gay gene"

Yeah, that's a nice objective definition that won't cause any issues...* cough age*, *cough mental state*, etc Okay? I definitely agree that children cannot give consent because of their mental and sexual immaturity. I never argued for pedophilia in the slightest sense. Homosexuality and pedophilia...

Re: Arguements Against Classical Theism or Deism?

Alexander and Julius Caesar were conquerors with an impact that spanned across Europe, there are coins minted and found in different countries with each of their faces on them, and many accounts of soldiers who participated in the wars they started. Theres abundant evidence in favour of both of thos...

Re: No such thing as a "gay gene"

Keeping in line with my earlier comparison, that is essentially the same as saying "it is not depraved to be left handed, only to write with your left hand". I see you know nothing or morals and ethics. Beyond that, you know very little about the science of biology. I guess you don't feel the need ...

Re: No such thing as a "gay gene"

As long as it is consensual for all parties involved, thats correct.

You could point to certain STDs associated with homosexuality, but all sex carries the risk of various STDs, regardless of orientation. The mere presence of risk does not in itself make something immoral.

Re: Arguements Against Classical Theism or Deism?

Hello All, Been awhile since Ive posted here (Over 5 years in fact), just thought Id check back in out of curiosity. These days Id describe myself as an agnostic classical theist/deist or possibly panentheist. One question I pose to Christians nowadays is: what arguments are there in favour of the ...

Re: Arguements Against Classical Theism or Deism?

I don't think metaphysical free will is a coherent concept whatsoever, especially when an all powerful all knowing God who's will is always done is thrown into the mix. But even that aside, if God already knows exactly whats going to happen, and ALWAYS knew exactly what was going to happen, why get ...

Re: Arguements Against Classical Theism or Deism?

Opposite actually. God in Genesis and Exodus is extremely anthropomorphic and constantly displaying human qualities like jealousy, regret, and anger. Anger for example is not something Id expect to be part of the experience of a perfect being, because it would've planned everything in such a way tha...

Re: No such thing as a "gay gene"

Keeping in line with my earlier comparison, that is essentially the same as saying "it is not depraved to be left handed, only to write with your left hand". I'd love to hear the rationale behind that! Homosexual love (or " homosexual acts") is akin to writing with your left hand, being "left hande...

Re: Arguements Against Classical Theism or Deism?

I disagree that an impersonal God would be inferior to a personal one. A being great enough to create the universe would be so grand in scale that it would probably not have much to do with humans at all since we are so infinitesimally small compared to the universe. But even if its the case that an...

Re: No such thing as a "gay gene"

Whether homosexuality is nature or nurture, one thing is very clear: it isn't a choice. At no point does a homosexual person say "I think I'll start being attracted to members of the same biological sex now". Treating homosexuality as though its a moral choice in the same way as stealing or somethin...
