What exactly is the nephesh animals? I read a Hugh Ross article but I don't think it covered all of them. It got mammals, birds and a few reptiles correct, but wouldn't dinosaurs and some insects be included?

Also we have found "aliens" in a sense, a few animals are arguably truly intelligent such as chimps, dolphins and elephants.

I think it's both. Genesis is interesting in how it does that. Tells literal events and truths but morphs it into a symbolic meaning also.

There's much stuff like that in the church. Atheist pastors, misandry, over focus on bread and circus for youth groups, etc.

In job chapter 1 it's mentioned the sons of God presented themselves to I AM. It's thought by some that includes other sapient ETs. After all Adam and Eve were supposed to be the representatives of eden and earth.
