Re: God used two powerful dreams to draw and reach this agnostic scientist!

Now, IF one truly wants to know the truth about God and His existence, I would challenge them to ASK Him to reveal Himself to them, as it's just that simple! And to the one who SINCERELY and HONESTLY asks Him (even though skeptical of what perhaps seems an intellectually ridiculous quest), God WILL...

Re: God used two powerful dreams to draw and reach this agnostic scientist!

Technically, an atheist is someone who doesn't believe in a god, while an agnostic is someone who doesn't believe it's possible to know for sure that a god exists. It's possible to be both—an agnostic atheist doesn't believe but also doesn't think we can ever know whether a god exists. You’re right...

Re: Facing Your Doubts About God and Faith!

FlieG, ha - back in New England this week. I also go to Newport, RI A good bit - ever been there? I have a post on doubts I hope to post soon. We’re mortal, so they’re inescapable, but I think important to our growth in faith and maturity - as long as we face them honestly and seek God when we expe...

Re: Facing Your Doubts About God and Faith!

I like the White Mtns area a lot! Skied in Vermont - best of the eastern resorts. Most time spent in MA, CT, RI, ME. Small towns up there are really nice! As for Canada, I've only spent time in Ontario, TO, etc - I like it! But bad winters. I’m not a fan of Toronto but it does have some charm...but...

Re: What happens the moment after you die

The key to discerning between teachings of various Christian or "Christian" groups is, where do they derive their teachings - from the Bible or from man-made traditions tacked on to it - or teachings that outright contradict it? I absolutely HATE religion - because ALL of it, is built aro...

Re: What happens the moment after you die?

Pope Francis says that a direct personal relationship with Jesus is dangerous, and you need the Roman Catholic Church to go to heaven. A little ways into the video he gives the speech. https://rumble.com/v208by0-pope-francis-vows-to-usher-in-one-world-religion.html That Pope Francis is disliked amo...

Re: What happens the moment after you die?

My in-laws are all Catholic - as my wife once was. My FIL was very unsophisticated in his Biblical knowledge, but I'm quite sure he died saved - he clearly loved God /Christ, and lived his life like it. Somehow, my wife got it, even before she was introduced to the evangelical world and began learn...

Re: What happens the moment after you die?

... I've see people on this site like this - they pick and choose what of the Bible they want to believe. Of course, the cultural believers can come from all sorts of backgrounds. I know many long-time Catholics who attend Mass regularly, yet know next to nothing about the Bible or CC doctrine - an...

Re: What happens the moment after you die?

... I wondering, why even claim Christian beliefs if you reject much of the Bible anyway? ... People who reject the Bible while claiming to be Christian are likely doing it from a cultural perspective. Such people come from a predominantly Christian culture/family/background and therefore consider ...

Re: What happens the moment after you die?

The Bible does not give a definitive answer to this question, as there is no clear consensus among different Christian denominations. Some denominations, such as Calvinism, believe that the soul goes directly to be with Christ upon death. Other denominations, such as Methodism, believe that the sou...

Re: Dr. Mike Heiser's film on UFOs, aliens, demons, occult

I decided to watch your link to Dr Heiser’s film on UFOs. I had nothing better to do so “Why not?” I said to myself while rolling my eyes heavenward. Kooky science fiction crap like Ancient Aliens or Bermuda Triangle stories always struck me as Harlequin romances for the scientifically-brain dead bu...

Re: Christianity: the greatest love story ever told

I'd says Ken's post is more revealing than merely interesting - as it shows that we need to be careful about what we assume and assert about people we don't even know, and not project our own past experiences with others onto them. Obviously, not all atheists' backgrounds, families and reasoning be...

Re: Christianity: the greatest love story ever told

They’re praying for me. My mother passed a few months back, but my dad, and my siblings are all praying for me I’m sure. We get along fine, we just don’t talk about religion (or politics) when we get together because those are sensitive subjects to them. As I mentioned before, I wish I could tell t...
