Re: Thoughts on YEC

I would like to know how Noah's flood proves the earth is young, because in his discussion with Ross he seems to imply that rocks on the top of mountains proves the earth is young. There were a couple points I was making. The first was that the shells on top of the mountains of the world are evidenc...

Re: Both neanderthals and humans mated with each other. What does your creation interpretation say?

You did post straw man arguments. You conflated a belief of millions of years, with belief in evolution. When not all of us who believe in millions of years, believe in evolution. You conflated a belief in evolution, with naturalism. When not all who believe in evolution believe in naturalism. You ...

Re: Thoughts on YEC

All scientists are not a part of some "anti God" conspiracy. There are plenty of scientists who believe in God, and also believe the universe is billions of years old. For some reason, you've bought into the Ken Ham school of thought which conflates billions of years, with naturalism. Do you know t...

Re: Thoughts on YEC

RickD, you always accuse others of misleading when their views don't align with your own. Is that fair? We need a little give and take where when a YEC says you are close minded, you let them hold their view even if you don't agree with it. Ironically, you try to pigeonhole all creationists into a m...

Re: Jesus!

The trinity is a foundational belief of Christianity and those who reject it can be argued to not be Christians for they are making a false God of there vain imagination. If you go back to church history, they were pretty strong on this point!

Re: Shroud of Turin

We really have no idea where the shroud came from. During the middle ages there were all kinds of con men who would create artifacts purported to have come from Jesus giving evidence to the resurrection or used by Jesus in some way. To say we really know this is from Jesus is grand speculation and w...

Re: Both neanderthals and humans mated with each other. What does your creation interpretation say?

This verse supports both a supernatural creation and a worldwide flood - not a localized flood like some advocate. This would support YEC that typically doesn't believe in a natural creation but a creation coming from the very lips of God.

Re: Both neanderthals and humans mated with each other. What does your creation interpretation say?

Kurieuo, I don't think it is a big deal either way - 4th day or first day. I think there needs to be a little more charity in these discussions on OEC and YEC. Good arguments can be put up for both sides. I think we need to work together examining both science and scripture. We each need to advance ...

Re: Both neanderthals and humans mated with each other. What does your creation interpretation say?

Ablecainsbrother, we need to understand that the meaning needs to be gathered from the original language - here I think Hebrew. We don't just pick the translation that most closely matches what we want to say! Some translations are better than others and that is why the best Christian denominations ...

Re: Both neanderthals and humans mated with each other. What does your creation interpretation say?

RickD,you seem to be saying dogmatic things. Why are you so against me? Now I do think God is very capable to make the first three days in three 24 hour days, with or without the sun. The fact that the writer talks about day and night seems to me to emphasize the point of 24 hour days. The passage t...

Re: Both neanderthals and humans mated with each other. What does your creation interpretation say?

Those who get worked up about YEC seem to believe that science has it all wrapped up and there is clear understanding scientifically that the creation is old. Scientifically, we cannot even account for more than 90% of the mass of the universe and we are going to dogmatically say we know the age of ...

Re: Shroud of Turin

I don't think we as Christians should put the Shroud of Turin forward as evidence for the resurrection. We have the gospels which are plenty of evidence for the resurrection!
