Re: Rejection :(

Nicki.. I'll pray for you, I've been in a very similar situation to you. I was desperate to leave but couldn't. My daughter, my faith, my stubbornness. I had an affair. I did so, so many things I shouldn't have done. I knew it wasn't if I'd leave but when. I prayed... Now, although how it happened w...

Re: DOES God have a sense of humor?

I have often pondered on this.. I think He has, I mean c'mon, duck billed platypus? RickD? He has to! Seriously though we are created in His image and laughter is one of life's gift, is it not? Do animals have a sense of humour? (Actually having known a few animals, I do wonder about that) There has...

Re: Rejection :(

I stayed in my marraige for years, desperately wishing i was somewhere else, anywhere else. I would spend hours walking, just to avoid going home. I stayed because it was, despite everything, the right thing to do. When we split (the decision was kinda forced as a result of things that happened) it ...

Re: Rejection :(

Write him a letter, don't give it to him but it might help to write it. Say what you need to say. It helps me anyway, just an idea.

And nicki.... you did the right thing x

Re: Free will

Story: So in a sense everything I decide and do was predetermined but it's still down to my free will. No, God does not decide for you what color socks you must put on. We FREELY make our decisions, but God can influence and thus controls OUTCOMES. No but i bet He knew what colour i will choose. St...

Re: Atheist question

Loving this thread!

Time..
Eternity is the past, present and future all together. Eternity contains time, it's part of time yet it isn't time itself.
Whatever caused space and time to come into being has to be eternal, so it's outside of time as well as being a part of it.

Free will

Sat on the bus on my way to work (more about that later) pondering stuff.. Free will.. I decide my actions, God knew what I will choose yet still here I am. So in a sense everything I decide and do was predetermined but it's still down to my free will. My future was determined by me before I even ex...

Re: Atheist question

Yeah I could assume he is referring to the Christian God, but even then, I have no proof it is real or not I recognize it could be something else; like an evolved being from another planet that that visited earth centuries ago and primitive man proclaimed as God; and over the years the myth evolved...

Re: Atheist question

Kenny. That's actually a weak argument that fails. I propose something-prove it's wrong or accept your argument has failed? I have sources that proclaim God is real. Prove He isn't or accept that your argument has failed. Then bow down to Him and confess. If you don't now you will later anyway beca...

Re: Atheist question

Kenny.. The points that DBowling makes are are really good ones. How science studies the natural world and points to the supernatural. How do you explain the Christian scientists, the lawyer that was a staunch atheist before "putting the resurrection on trail" writing "who moved the stone", the shro...

Re: Atheist question

I'm afraid that Kenny has been dishonest with all of us. He said that he is here to learn. Yet time and time again, he asks the same questions that he has been given the answers to. If he were truly here to learn, he would not be asking the same questions over and over, after people have been extre...

Re: Atheist question

I keep getting drawn back to this post. I never knew how to answer them, saw them as a stumbling block in explaining my faith. I think, maybe, because they are the kind of questions I struggled with. So Myra Hindley is in heaven yet the dear little old lady down the road goes to hell because they d...

Something from nothing

Will edit this later... thoughts..

Nothing "no thing"
Something "some thing"
There can't be nothing without something..
If there was nothing before the big bang there must have been something for there to be nothing..
