Re: How do you know prayer works?

I've brought this back up because I was thinking about Luke 18:1-8, the parable of the persistent widow. Jesus told it to show his disciples 'that they should always pray and not give up.' The widow in the story keeps asking the judge for justice until he essentially gets sick of it and does what sh...

'Bombarded' with God's love, how could anyone resist? ;) Maybe if someone is hardened against God? How would you say he was bombarding you with love, or drawing you? We sing a lot of songs at church about God's love, and the ultimate proof of that being Christ dying for us, but I find it increasing...

Re: Justices side with Colorado baker on same-sex wedding cake

Yet, to say someone's services should be state enforcable, for ANY reason, to me rings of slavary and that we're all -- all people in that state -- are ultimately state property rather than truly free. This I strongly resist and disagree with. Your house is state property. Your property taxes are "...

Re: Did we choose God or did God choose us? Your personal testimony...

Whatever we might FEEL about God in a given moment, may well be very inaccurate. We're instructed not to let emotions and feelings guide our sense of the truth of things. On the cross, why did Jesus exclaim (Matthew 27:46), "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?"(My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?)? W...

Re: Justices side with Colorado baker on same-sex wedding cake

And out of the woodwork come the newly emboldened bigots righteous, vindicated Christians. I think he's in the wrong because he's not looking at the big picture. Homosexual behaviour is wrong according to the Bible, but so are a lot of other things. In fact there's no one who's perfect and does no ...

Yes, I don't see an issue with abortion because I don't consider it killing/murdering a human being. That seems strange to me, coming from someone that holds science in such high regard. I really c...

I can't imagine anyone putting photos or video meant to be private and unviewable by any other than their spouse, on a device that can access the internet. Plus, it's far too easy to screw up and make a mistake.
It sounded as if it was a toddler who was to blame for the incident ;)

 No, those pics were just for you Rick. Do you still have them? ;) ;) Yes, I still have them. Would you like me to put one up as my profile picture? So long as it's not the one you ripped from a Youtube video (stalker!). That one was horrid, I was hit by some kind of virus so had just had bloo...

You forgot the "sexting" pictures that you accidentally sent to all the mods. Waking up to a naked text of Kurieuo, isn't something I enjoyed!  No, those pics were just for you Rick. Funniest moment for me was when a personal PM to Nessa went to all mods by accident. Then Nessa did the same thing soon after. Anyone still got a copy? Just as well we saved all the naughty stuff for email.... waaaaay safer  We did? I thought the Skype video sessions... err.. never mind....

Re: Pope: GOD made people gay

That's just it...the same argument could be made against God for allowing sin to enter and ruin His creation. Do I think you're saying God is a hypocrite? No...not at all. Stop taking everything so personal. I've been asking about applying this logic elsewhere and how it CAN say something I don't f...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

:beat: :brick: :duel:  :pound: I just thought there was some logic here that wasn't being spelled out. I mean, if the exact day is that important for keeping the Sabbath, we need to determine which is the right day. We can't just go by the names of the days because the Israelites had diffe...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

^ hey I was rather enjoying this (says the cultist Catholic :poke:  ). Why do you, a "cultic" Catholic, worship on Sunday? Does your reason for doing so match up to that of Rome's Challenge ? . . What's so special about Saturday in itself? Even though the Israelites used a seven-day week, ...
