Abortion - Irish have done it. Consequences ?

Just in case you haven't heard. Ireland is allowing abortion. Abortion has been covered quite extensively in the "The Souls of Aborted Fetuses" thread here -> https://discussions.godandscience.org/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=42296 Here are some points I've summarized and been considering - some are not scr...

Re: Bible's Original Writings: ALL Inspired, Partially, or None Is?

So, to me, one who considers the canon of Scripture a blend of truth, myth and fiction - this tells me a lot about how much they trust Him, and how they view God's attributes, abilities, love, power, and Holy character. A god behind an untrustworthy "bible" either doesn't care what his word is ming...

Re: Son of Sam/Son of Hope

........From all outward indications, it appeared her husband was as well. He'd been a deacon and leader in his church. Turns out she'd sought her pastor out over her fears, yet received no real help, other than "to tough it out, prayerfully." And so, not long afterward, one terrible night (about t...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

...... It looks like Hamster was ensnared by it when he came to Christ, rather than standing up free in Christ. Ensnared ? It almost killed me ! Edit: "The Sabbath was given to Israel, not the church. The Sabbath is still Saturday, not Sunday, and has never been changed. But the Sabbath is part of ...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

Hmm. How many strawmen can I spot? . . Q: What happens to those who don't keep the Law after coming to Christ? (which mind you, is every single one of us, right?) From personal experience, I f'd up monumentally in keeping the law. The Holy Spirit told me I was the worst of the worse. It got ...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

Rick: Philip, If the sabbath law was instituted at creation, wouldn't there be an unbroken succession of God's covenant people observing the sabbath before it was written as part of mosaic law? Like biblical proof that Adam, Noah, and Abraham, were observing the sabbath? I'll have to think on that ...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

Fewwww!. That's a bit more encouraging. It's ok to worship all the time ! Besides, my Sin-count this month is through the roof. I didn't want to add to it anymore - lightning season is over but the ground is just itching to open up and swallow me y#-o I'm not sure if you understand the gospel...but...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

If our Sunday was working day, and our Friday non working day, and we would have sermons on Saturday, would that be ok? Just shifting our calendar by one day... Well, I was worshiping on Tuesday, resting on Sunday, and sermons on Saturday. But I found it better to worship on Monday better than Tues...

I read the Rome Challenge! Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

Any good reasons why Christians ignore God's clear Commandments? The majority of Christians (and everyone else for that matter) are 'under the law' (or under the 'curse of the Law') meaning that their nature, reasoning, judgement, etc, is clouded by sin. Nobody who is 'under the law', can keep the ...
