Huh? Hell is translated from Geenna, from "the place of the future punishment call "Gehenna" or "Gehenna of fire". This was originally the valley of Hinnom, south of Jerusalem, where the filth and dead animals of the city were cast out and burned; a fit symbol of the wicked...

Needless to say, this is only introductory material as it relates to the entire unit. But, it is sufficiently shown that the Calvinist interpretation is incorrect simply because it does not recognize that national Israel is in view rather than the individual Jew or Gentile. Very good, Jac! Now wher...

37Even after Jesus had done all these miraculous signs in their presence, they still would not believe in him. 38This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: "Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?"[g] PL, I had to go further back in J...

I believe Emily Rose was possessed. After seeing the movie I got pretty scared. Started thinking I could get possessed. So, why did she get possessed? Who gets possessed and why? I thought Christians couldn't get possessed? Mystical, I don't think a christian should ever fear that they could become...

Your very Knowledgable, PL. You know what you believe and you are passionate about it. I wonder though if you have any compassion for the people God supposedly left to their own devices and end up in hell. I couldn't sleep at night believing my God could be so cruel. I know that God is equally as Ho...

What was the "action" required of this? The action was repentance and subjection to the will of the Almighty. The action of believing on Christ is more than saying, ya I believe and leaving it at that. I didn't say it wasn't. Repentance as a change of mind is implied here when Paul and Si...

The theology of Arminians and other "free-willers" will naturally lead your your "easy-believism"-"no Lordship" heresy. Today's so-called "gospel" message says, "Come to Jesus, He'll give you a better life". The gospel message that was preached in t...

Ah, the theories that come from the fallible minds of men. Each generation, of course, thinks their theories can be proven until the next generation proves them wrong. And that's why the age of the earth is always chaninging. Isn't that the truth. At least this is the type of theory that doesn't pu...

You have just added to my previous point that YEC interpretations raise more questions one needs to hypothesise over. I'm not hypothesising over anything. I trust God and His word first and foremost and take it literally. To be honest I couldn't care less how old the earth is but I do take what it ...

3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. 6 An...

"The Apparent age theory is quite a thought. It's more than just that. If you were just talking about geologic records I maybe could buy it. You then have to explain a fossil records. Did God put them there to deceive us? You also have astronomical bodies millions and billions of light years a...
