Certain verses of the Bible would be considered de facto or de jure hate speech pretty well anywhere.
While we are free to say what we like, Americans practice self-censorship. Can you imagine what would happen to an NFL star if he said that homosexuality was abhorrent to God and a grievous sin leading to hell?

Do unto others and all that.
Time for Christians to start viewing anti-christian views and sayings as hate speech too.

They are a kind of hate speech...hatred of God. But in this case, calling a spade a spade will only get you ridiculed.
Better keep quiet.
