Not quite the picture in my mind that I wanted to wake up to.

Hope you're feeling up and at 'em (no pun intended) real soon!

Reading betwixt the lines - THAT is pretty much the last thing I'm presently thinking of  Device removed this morning and the other good news is I've not taken but two Tylenol since the surgery, so I'm not in lala land. Can't drive for a week - which just thrills wifey

Thanks, Hana. How is Tomas? And how are you holding up with so much stress?

OK, Rick, that video did put a few laughing hurts on me! How very strange that the very first song I listened to since surgery is all about hernias and James Brown - whom I totally dig. But as for Weird Al - well, what can you say? Good thing is doc says a mesh hernia repair will make your abdominal wall even stronger than before the injury. My brother, with the same injury and doc, was back lifting weights about three weeks later, which sounds crazy to me.

Exactly my point!
Now, start lying around and eating junk food, and you'll be well on your way to this:

Bippy! Thanks so much! I am doing great, my friend. I go back to the doc on Thursday to see how active he'll let me become. I'm trying to be careful, though, to allow for maximum healing.

What has transpired with you since your last communications? Still driving for Uber? What of the situation with your brother? Where are you staying now? I pray all is well and getting better.

Speaking of seeing how active the doctor will allow you to be...

I had an operation when I was younger. I asked the doctor if I'd be able to play the piano after the operation. He said, "Of course you will be able to play the piano."

I went on to tell him that he was a miracle worker, because I'd never been able to play the piano before.
