I can choose to avoid the evidence that I might find convincing, but once I receive convincing evidence; I have no choice but to believe it.

Not necessarily Kenny, though it perhaps hinges on "convincing".

The heart is extremely important. If someone is closed to evidence, or their heart is anti the truth of something, they don't want to hear it or the like, then they'll follow their heart. That happens on both sides, with all people.

And I think this is why "belief" is so important re: Christ, given I believe such is true and it is true. It kind of makes sense. Because our hearts are intimately tied in with our beliefs, especially of the kind that involve God. Belief is an indicator of one's heart, and in relation to God their heart towards God.

Convincing evidence?
Like what?

For the people who have seen aliens, they have their evidence. There are photos of ghosts all over the place. Some people choose to believe there is a face on Mars.

It is choice Ken.

You just choose not to believe. Just like I choose to.

Sounds like you are making the same point I did; someone can choose not to believe by refusing to see evidence that supports the opposing position. But once they allow themselves to see the evidence, if they find the evidence convincing, they will have no choice but to believe. Aren't we saying the same thing?

Does this mean you could just as easily choose NOT to believe?

Okay, let me see if I've got this straight. Earlier if I recall correctly you said your ability to choose what you believe is limited to your belief in God, that it does not apply to politics, health, etc. Now you say you could just as easily choose to become atheist as you have chosen to be christian. Am I correct thus far?

No.
I may believe my partner loves me because he controls me, my life etc (he doesnt, but you get my drift)
The fact that I am here, now, doing this, is evidence of God for me.
I am blessed Ken, truly, I am happy, I have a family and I believe it is all God given. Tell me I'm wrong. Prove He doesn't exist. Till then, I choose to believe, or at least, dare to.

How are you defining "blind leap of faith"?

"FAITH" has a lot of definitions and shades of meaning. Now you've added assertions, and two metaphors.

Why would I think you've improved on your original bit of eauivocation fallacy?

Because you live by blind faith... and cannot prove otherwise.
