Christians make up a massive majority, and ought to be represented as such. And their public policies ought to reflect their and their constituents world views.
If anything, there are too few outspoken Christians in politics, not just in the US, but everywhere there is a podium

One can just pray and leave it in God's hands what socks to wear, but I tend to think God works through people to be His hands and feet in the world. As part of the great commission Christians ought to use tools work well and are available to them, while also respecting that God respects the freedom of people to reject.
