I Am Not Ashamed -- brief comments

Post by Romansonetwentytwo »

I am NOT a fan of "faith based" films. Christians are often portrayed as sanitized ( I have yet to meet a sanitized Christian and if I did I would pray for their salvation) and non-believers are seen as drooling, angry God-haters living totally immoral lives. With reluctance, I watched "I Am Not Ashamed", a film based on Rachel Joy Scott, a Christian student killed at the Columbine High School shooting in 1999. The Christians in this film, based on eye witness accounts and the young girls journal entries, are flawed. The non-believers are, in general, well-meaning individuals. Here is a film that the viewer, believer and non, can relate with. It has it's eye-rolling moments and some "creative" moments but, after doing some research, is roughly 80% accurate.
Unlike the well-intentioned but painful "God's Not Dead" series and the Kendrick films, "I Am Not Ashamed" is worthy of your time.
Thanks for your time and comments are welcomed.

Thanks for the update,

Haven't seen the film as this past year, well, good films made during that year are hard to find. Most have a political message forcing worldly conformity down peoples throats.

Might watch this one later so thank you for the tip!
