How the KJV bible teaches the heavens and earth are old.

Post by abelcainsbrother »

I know there are a lot of people who do not prefer the KJV bible but instead prefer other more modern translations. It is not my intention to persuade you to accept or prefer the KJV bible I am just going to show how the KJV bible teaches us or reveals to us the heavens and earth are old and not young. You can decide if you accept it or not.

First off it is important to understand that the KJV bible was translated over 400 years ago long before modern geological science that discovered the earth is old and even 150 year old evolution science. So there is no way the scholars that translated the KJV bible were in any way influenced by science or evolution. The Authorized King James Version bible was translated from Hebrew,Aramaic, and Greek manuscripts and it has its own internal set of words and definitions that are self a interpreting in their specific meaning and context. The KJV's English translation is an integrated whole throughout the sixty-six books.

In the book of Hebrews, the Lord Jesus Christ is said to be the maker of the worlds( plural)

Hebrews 1:2 " Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son,whom he hath appointed heir of all things,by whom also he made the worlds( plural).

Hebrews 11:3 " Through faith we understand the worlds(plural) were framed by the word of God,so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear."

So from this it let's us know the heavens and earth are old.

Now more modern scholars question and claim certain words used by KJV scholars are wrong or mistranslations, but were they? Or could it be they are the ones biased preferring words that hide the evidence of an old heaven and earth that the KJV reveals?Could it be they are the ones biased and have changed words that hide an old earth so that they can teach a young earth? You can decide.

Let's take a look at these two verses in Genesis.

Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and earth."

Genesis 2:1 "Thus the heavens and earth were finished, and all the host of them."

Now almost all modern translations make Genesis 1:1 plural with the word heavens instead of heaven, yet in both of these verses it is the same Hebrew word "shamayim" yet they decide to make Genesis 1:1 plural, why?
By making it plural we overlook important signs that reveals the heavens and earth are old. Let me explain in Genesis 1:1 if we keep it heaven and then read Genesis 2:1 where heavens is plural? We can know the heavens and earth are old.Because in the beginning there was only heaven that had been created but in Genesis 2:1 where heavens( plural) is used we know the three heavens were made after or during the six days,or Genesis 1:3-12 and if you add in Genesis 1:2 it implies a regeneration or restoration also, but I digress.

Let's go on and see how modern scholars claim KJV translators got it wrong, but did they? You decide.

Genesis 1:28 " And God blessed them, and said to them,Be fruitful, and multiply, and REPLENISH the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea,and over the fowl of the air,and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

Genesis 9:1 "And Noah blessed his sons, and said unto them,Be fruitful, and multiply, and REPLENISH the earth."

Now the fur really flies over the KJV translators' choice of English words in these two verses, but especially in Genesis 1:28 with its use of the word replenish and they insist it means to fill, which certainly is one meaning of the Hebrew word " male".However the word replenish in Genesis 9:1 is correct in which they are instructed to RE-populate the earth. So it is interesting why modern scholars insist it means fill in Genesis 1:28, yet are they right? Suppose both should mean replenish like the KJV scholars translated it? It shows the heavens and earth is old and it was replenished by Adam and Eve which means former life existed on the earth, but we miss this totally if we insist it means fill for the first time. So who's right and how would it effect you if replenish was right and there was former life on this earth? The KJV translators definitely thought so and the KJV teaches the heavens and earth are old.

But let's go on because there is more.

Genesis 2:4 " These are the GENERATIONS of the heavens and of the earth when they were created,in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens."

Genesis 5:1 " This is the book of the GENERATIONS of Adam,In the day that God created man,in the likeness of God made he him."

Genesis 6:9 "These are the GENERATIONS of Noah: Noah was just a man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God."

In all three of these verses, generations is defined as a line of descent or family history and it is plural in all three instances generations is used, yet again modern scholars insist generations should have been singular especially in Genesis 2:4. But who is right? By making it singular we do not know the heavens and earth are old because it is not plural, but if it is plural like KJV translators translated it the heavens and earth are old because there were generations of the heavens and earth and this is without having to stretch out the six days to be long periods of time also, however you still could and you'd have even more evidence to show the heavens and earth are old and not young.

These examples are good for now and they reveal an old heaven and earth if you accept the KJV scholars and their translation and that is for you to decide. But it was known the heavens and earth are old and not young over 400 years ago long before modern geological science and even evolution science.I can say this is one reason why the Gap Theory interpretation became so popular when science discovered the earth is old. It was seen as a revelation of God's word that was revealed at the right time that confirmed God's word. Or was it just confirmation bias? You decide.
Hebrews 12:2-3 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2nd Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of this glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,should shine unto them.
