Prayers for my cousin's family

Post by Byblos »

This was truly one of the saddest days today when I learned that my cousin, who dedicated his entire life to Christ and the church, was car-jacked, strangled, and left by the side of the road. My heart is bleeding, he was like a brother to me. Please keep my aunt and her family in your prayers.
Let us proclaim the mystery of our faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.

Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

That's awful, Byblos. I hope he'll be alright. My prayers are with your family.
John 5:24
24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

Thanks for the prayers Rick. He will never be alright, he was murdered.

Wow! I'm sorry Byblos. I thought you meant he was left on the side of the road, but was still alive.

That's just horrible. I don't even know what to say. You've had a rough year. I'm sorry.

My heart goes out to you and your family in this terrible time, no words can describe this tragedy.
1Tim1:15-17
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.Amen.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Prayers for your family.
1Th 4:13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.
1Th 4:14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
Acts 17:24-25 (NIV)
"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. [25] And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else."

It is times like these that our faith is shaken to the core. All I keep thinking is why him and why in this vicious manner, the most gentle of souls whom I idolized precisely for his unshakable faith in Christ. It seems even in his death he is determined to be a role model so you're right August, the scripture you quoted could not be more appropriate. While we morn an immeasurable loss, we do rest in the comfort of our hope in Christ.

Thank you all for your prayers. They are a great source of comfort as well.
