Faith of The Fatherless

Interesting book. Paul C. Vitz takes the double edged sword that atheists like to swing at people who believe in God and stab them with it. Called the defective father hypothesis, and he goes through strong atheists/deists as well as Christians, and looks at their family relationships (mainly with father)...don't know how it ends, but should annoy atheists, because he's attacking the claim that atheism is built on rational and theism on emotions and irrationality and the likes
"My actions prove that God takes care of idiots."

He occasionally stumbled over the truth, but hastily picked himself up and hurried on as if nothing had happened.
- On Stanley Baldwin

-Winston Churchill

An atheist can't find God for the same reason a criminal can't find a police officer.

You need to start asking out girls so that you can get used to the rejections.

Don't get too excited; his scholarhip is seriously questioned in most circles.

Using hand-picked samples and extrapolating from that is not something to base a scientific hypothesis on.

There are many strong Christians who had a weak or absent father. Howver, someone with a degree of intellectual honesty would not point to them and say, "Aha!. That is why you became a Christian. Because you missed out on an earthly father filled the gap with a heavenly one." Such a statement is rank reductionism.
