Re: Seventh Day Adventists in the Bible

I understand now Starhunter. I have been asking for references to your information for some time now and now that you have supplied all has become clearer. We have very little left to say. Your submission to independent references and desire to see things as you, and not necessarily as they are or ...

Re: Seventh Day Adventists in the Bible

Deaths under Papal rule in the dark ages. http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/vatican/esp_vatican30a.htm http://webwitness.org.au/estimates.html I am reluctant to post references because these are shortly deleted from the internet. There were several University studies from Cambridge I wanted to post,...

Re: Seventh Day Adventists in the Bible

Gotta say Starhunter, the more i dig the more confused I get. I have always thought and felt the bible verses i have produced were the link to Sundays being the day of rest for Christians. it obviously is today, but perhaps not for the reasons i thought... here's something i came across that has so...

Re: Seventh Day Adventists in the Bible

There are only so many New Testament Scriptural references that impact what is correct practice concerning A or THE Sabbath - which have been referenced and established by the links posted in this thread. I can almost guarantee that if it takes an entire book to persuade concerning this subject, th...

Re: Seventh Day Adventists in the Bible

Here is a book written by Joseph Bates in the first half of the 19th century. http://www.gutenberg.org/files/27266/27266-h/27266-h.htm Joseph Bates was one of the people that introduced the Sabbath to the new world (post Papal). It may help to understand why the early Adventists listened to what he ...

Re: Seventh Day Adventists in the Bible

I read the link Rick. The Bible does not support Sunday worship or the neglect of the Law of God. Plenty of people are against the Law of God because their institutions are loyal to the Antichrist, but that will not annihilate it, as the world will find out shortly. You will find plenty of arguments...

Re: Seventh Day Adventists in the Bible

The ceremonial laws ended, as did the civil laws of Israel when the earthly sanctuary service, and the nation as a Theocracy ended respectively. You have deliberately mixed these in for effect, but they don't apply here. The Law of God simply says, not to work on the Sabbath. Not to do the things wh...

Re: Seventh Day Adventists in the Bible

Starhunter, The Sabbath is still sundown Friday, to sundown Saturday. The Catholic Church didn't change the sabbath to Sunday. Sunday worship for believers, goes back to the New Testament. There is no Catholic conspiracy to change the Sabbath to a different day. Sunday is called The Lord's Day. It'...

Re: Seventh Day Adventists in the Bible

But the context - the surrounding texts, show what law this is talking about. Hebrews 7:11 It says that the law was given under the Levitical priesthood. The ten commandments were given before there was a priesthood and a sanctuary, so the law cannot be referring to the ten commandments. Hebrews 7:...

Re: How God Creates

Some people look at moral laws as something which they should be able to view as being totally separate and unnecessary for whatever they may want out of life. They put moral law as a religious option, if not a total bane. But moral or spiritual law is not distinct from physical law, as far as God i...

Re: How God Creates

What if to God, there is no good or evil? Perhaps God's true character, is really not known to us? That's true in the sense that God is beyond our comprehension, but God governs the universe by rules, which are a reflection of His character. He has given the world a copy of those rules, so that we ...

Re: A Scientific Theory on the given Freedom of God

God says in Jeremiah, "My thoughts are not your thoughts" and in another place "as high as the heavens are above the earth" ...so God's ways are not ours?

It would be fair to say that we don't really know what is good and bad.

Re: Seventh Day Adventists in the Bible

I deliberately put the term legalism out of its common use, because it is misused. The Pharisees are used as the examples of legalism, when in fact they did not understand or keep the law. Because the law demands that there is no other god before the Creator. That means to love the Lord. They only u...

Re: Seventh Day Adventists in the Bible

I have heard about rumblings and splits in the SDA church, which seem to be replicated in nearly every religion that I know of, people are finding it hard to sleep, while there is a contest going on between those who want to sleep and those who are awake but don't know what to do because they are no...
