Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

Byblos, a god(small g) is a false god, or idol. People worship them all the time. Who or what is Baal? An idol? A false god? Was Baal worshiped? I agree that Baal was a false god and that he was worshiped. But the subject is not about false gods, it's about whether or not the 3 monotheistic religio...

I think this is the $1,000,000 question.
Does anyone want to get into this?

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

Is it Allah that is the deception or is it the writings of the "prophet" Mohammed? Great question, Paul!!! Maybe more correct would be "Do Christians and Muslims worship the same God"? And in that the answer is no. But you are right than the Christian God is NOT the same as the ...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

Let's get back to the OP, and the original question, which is the title of this thread:Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god? As that question is written, the answer is no. If the question was written like this: Do Christians and Muslims have the same God? Then I would have to answer yes....

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

I find it rather convenient that you want to "just stick Muslims." If you are going to assert that Muslims have a different God, then it seems to me that you are logically obligated to asserting that Origen and Sabellius had a different God. Again, I'm not asserting that Muslims have a di...

PaulS wrote: Knowing as you know that I have family members in the JW religion you know I have pondered this question quite a bit. Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

BTW, for those of you who argue that people who reject the Trinity have a different God, what do you do about Origen or Eusebius or a myriad of other church fathers I could name? Do you realize that all of them rejected the Trinity as we have come to accept it? What do you do about Sebellius, who r...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

Paul, do you think one has to believe in the Jesus of the bible, who is God incarnate, to be saved? Or is believing in a Christ who was merely a man, and a prophet, sufficient for salvation?

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

I don't concede your premise. It's the premise you've been arguing that I've been disagreeing with throughout this entire thread. Just because one does not believe that Jesus is the Son of God, it does not follow that they do not believe in the same God. It is perfectly meaningful to say, "The...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

Rick, just because someone believes in and worships the same God we do doesn't mean that they are saved. Jac, correct me then. Doesn't free grace, and you, teach that all one has to do to be saved, is to believe in Christ? So, if someone " believes in and worships the same God we do"(Chri...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

It may well be the the "true" God of Islam is a pagan moon god, but for the typical Muslim, that is not the case. They view themselves as worshiping the God of Abraham. And as the link I posted shows, they too have answers to the critics view of "who is Allah". You have said it ...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?

Implicit doesn't = explicit and we all know that even some Christian denominations do NOT agree with the trinity Doctrine. I guess you and I disagree on what defines a Christian. Who is Jesus Christ? If a denomination teaches he is not the second person of the trinity, and just a man(not God in the...

Re: Proof that GOD Exists

Would the athiest say it is objectively true that morality is subjective to the culture they live in? :esurprised: An atheist in Canada will have a far different view of the morality of infanticide or the worth of women, than an atheist in China. Simply because to them, morals are subjective. Of co...

You see, Sandy made a comment on polytheism, to which I asked what the relevance is to the discussion at hand. KBCid wrote: Atheism is a stance against the existence of a god without evidence to back it. (a belief) Agnostics are the only ones who can take a simple stance of not knowing and thus not...
