Re: What is His name?

What then of those Jews who rejected Christ's Gift of Salvation? Did that automatically condemn them to Hell? Of course not, but they did remain under the OT law. Rejecting Christ's gift of salvation does not afford them another salvation. The only salvation is that through Christ. I think we agree...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

Bav: No...but He was a Sabbath-keeper...otherwise His death was not unlike my mother's in 2001. Meaning? You tell me. What does it mean that our Savior was/is a Sabbath-keeper in keeping with the Spirit? e.g. Romans 8:1-17 . . I was asking per your comment referencing your mother - what does she ha...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

The Jews at the time of Jesus would disagree with you... What possible relevance is there in THEIR reckoning of Sabbath-keeping? Exodus 20:8-12 Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On ...

Re: What is His name?

Up until the Crucifixion, all scripture was for the salvation of the Jews, who were under the law. For the moment, I can only reply quickly on the above: This is simply not true. ( not in the literal words you write at least ) While it was the Jews that held the law ( God gave it to them ), the law...

Re: What is His name?

Jesus tells us that he did not come to abolish the Law, rather he came to fulfill/accomplish the Law. That is why the Law became obsolete and disappeared (Hebrews 8:13) only after Jesus fulfilled/accomplished/completed the Law and established the New Covenant. Yes, He certainly did fulfill the law....

Re: What is His name?

I'm not suggesting, since I have already explicitly stated "I'm not 100% sure on this". :) The reason behind my post is the obvious differences between Old and New Testaments on the topic of Salvation and what appears to be contradictions, where none should exist. For example, from the Ol...

Re: What is His name?

Good Morning ALL!!! This is quite a forum! Everyone has contributed some really good scriptural based ideas, but why then the contradictions that are arising? I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think you each are correct but are missing one vital element, the Old Covenant versus the New. Up until the...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

Just quick question Bav. Which is worse and why: to not keep the Sabbath or not believe Jesus is God? I would guess the answer to this is the same answer given by Jesus to the Pharisees whom were trying to trick Him in asking which law was more important. . . Jesus wasn't a Seventh Day Adventist. I...

Re: What is His name?

NO - it merely means I know what "SAVED" actually means - it's ETERNAL life! Notice that I didn't say people who know all the words, believe all the history surrounding Jesus, externally show signs of being a believer, are Christians - as some may not be. So, people are fooled by the exte...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

RickD, I respectfully ask that you provide your POV with scripture so that you're POV will be less likely to be "misrepresented". If you don't want to do this, then maybe you might think about not participating in a discussion where such things might be asked of your opinions on the subjec...

Re: What is His name?

I don't know if OSAS is correct. That would mean that people's ability to choose God is a "one time" thing ( once you believe you can never stop believing). That angels are inferior to humans ( some fell away). I am sure that not everyone believes the same way or to the same degree. I hav...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

All the discussions we've had about the sabbath, and you still don't understand my pov? Please show me where I have ever said, implied, or argued that the sabbath is "no longer binding". Just the very fact that you think I'm arguing that, shows me that you have no intention of having an h...

The problem with your faith+ works ideas is [...] But another problem with your faith+works theology is that [...] Well here's the problem with your assessment of what was said. It's not a faith+works idea or theology. It's a faith-THAT-works theology. James 2:14-26 14What good is it, my brothers a...

This is easily proven wrong.

Mark 2:27
Mark 2:27 wrote:27Then Jesus told them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
