Re: The NKJV re examined

How many fans of the 1611 KJV known about these symbols in the 1611? I don't know exactly which printing these are in. Also notice there are margin notes! Wonder if King James saw this since he hated margin notes? Romans 1, a witch growing up from the ground with branches growing out from her finge...

Re: Gallup poll finds to fill pews - preach scripture

Totally agree. Speaking for myself I feel like I go away hungry, unfilled most times. Our church has slipped into the rut so many have that in trying to bolster plummeting attendance/membership the meat has been removed over the years. But this causes a vicious cycle of lower numbers and less meat g...

Re: Do any of you have the NASB Study Bible

I thought I had access but guess I don't. Do have an ESV study if that might help. I'll dig around and see what I can find to help you out. In the meanwhile, how about the Mounce Reverse-Interlinear New Testament? I like the feature of clicking the Greek word and the dictionary shows up to see most ...

I'll dig around and see what I can find to help you out. In the meanwhile, how about the Mounce Reverse-Interlinear New Testament? I like the feature of clicking the Greek word and the dictionary shows up to see most renderings in the NT of that word. Very interesting and its really helped me get a ...

Re: Why did no New Testament books mention AD70?

I lean to the earlier date. For one thing, late dating is a favorite tactic of Bible/Christianity haters like Bart Ehrmann. The further they can put the written Scriptures in the future, the easier it is to claim the Apostles did not write them but rather they were made up by others separated in tim...

Re: giants

When we visited Pompeii it was mentioned that male remains showed the average was around 5'3" +/- 2". IIRC women were 4'10" average. Lesser known than Pompeii is the nearby ruins of Herculaneum. The remains at that site were taller than Pompeii. Again plugging in the old 512k thumb dr...

Re: giants

Michael Heiser says Goliath was approximately 6'9" and he likely got that from the Septuagint. Also he says archeology in that region shows males were 5'3" - 5'5" and women about 5' for the era. I'm 6'4" and standing next to a 6'9" guy (usually a fit basketball player) I fee...

Re: giants

Digging around in history I've noticed that taller than average men have been around a while. Not tall from giantism just chest and shoulders above the average guy at the time. Vikings seemed to have more taller ones or so it appears. The famous Viking king Rollo was too tall to comfortably ride a h...

Re: Why did no New Testament books mention AD70?

My full question is; which of the New Testament books were written after AD70? Assuming there are several, why did none of them mention the 'earth-shattering' events of AD70? The destruction of the temple by Rome fulfilled one of Jesus' own prophecies (Matt. 24:1-3) and its theological significance...

Re: Nabeel has Cancer

I know a little of Nabeel mostly because of his friend, David Wood. I think he was diagnosed a while back. Whatever the outcome of the illness we know God will continue working through Nabeel to bring more people to Jesus Christ.

Re: Rise in flat earthism

I've noticed there seems to be a marked increase in kooks in the last ten years on the internet. In law enforcement you constantly run into mental cases, many seem as normal as anybody until they talk long enough. Usually takes 10 minutes for the really disguised kooks to reveal themselves. And yes...

I haven't "polluted" a public pool since pre-school. Now the ocean that's the world's biggest restroom.

Re: Calling All Geeks: "How do I ... ?" Etc.

The older one gets, the less prone to wanting to read through ridiculously and poorly written (and translated) manuals to just learn how to do simple functions. Basic everyday functions should be written in simple bulletpoint steps - I don't need to rezd through the techie version of "War and ...

Re: Calling All Geeks: "How do I ... ?" Etc.

Glad you found the solution because I still don't know where in Win 10 that little menu was stuffed. I feel your pain having been in a bind so many times and the instructions on where/how to fix DO NOT match up with what I'm seeing on my PC. I try not to let my kid find out because I'll get cute rem...
