Re: Old Testament Laws
I scrolled down and checked out the comments... and was reassured to see the first few comments were Christian responses rather than the usual hate you find on the internet. That was reassuring. If only the entire internet had a strong presence of Christian knowledge. But it was nice to see one case...

Birth Control
An ad in the New York Times today encouraged readers to abandon the Catholic Church because of their response to the birth control happenings lately. I'm SICK of reading how people justify certain things like abortion and irresponsible sexual behaviors with "women's rights"! People condemn...

Know of any good books about history?
Hey everyone, I'm itching to learn more about history and was just curious if you knew any good books (like paperback) that you enjoyed and would recommend. Obviously I could just google something and start reading, but I'm looking for something more themed and readable.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Americans are Idiots
Something I plan on doing after college is living in a tiny house. Hop on Youtube and type in 'tiny houses' and you'll get an idea of what the movement is. Very eco friendly, puts a limit on material addiction, and personally I don't want a mortgage or a lack of free time. Just a plug for my idea of...

Re: Rick Santorum
It's interesting to see how some atheists respond to him. I don't know anything at all about politics.. but I know that a lot of Christian values would do our society well. It's just that some of those values require sacrifice and self control.

Jlay, that was an excellent reply. I've been busy with other things lately, and it was nice to come back and see such a good response. I want to learn this stuff! It's just hard to learn rather than just read.

Re: God's Will For Careers
I've had two decisions recently where I've sat completely agonizing about what to do and second guessing myself. For my career, I decided to transfer to a Christian college and switch to music ministry and get a Biblical minor. Even though it's not as wide open as music ed. would be, it better fits ...

Re: Kent Hovind - Powerful evidence for a young earth
I remember like two years ago I stumbled into the world of young earth creationism. I was so excited and ate up everything. Little did I realize it would lead to two years of differing worldviews entering my life. At the very least, it got me thinking about God and how to defend my faith. I'm thankf...

Re: Catholicism
I think confession is a good thing. It's so much more real.
I grew up Catholic.. I can't help but feel like there has to be one church that still exists from the start that had it right. But man is fallible. I dunno.

What are we supposed to do?
I've been trying my best to figure out my faith. I've been figuring out the questions I have about the Word, my career, and what I think Christianity really means. But I'm so confused. I'm convinced I will never find answers to anything.. What does the Holy Spirit feel like? Is it this, or that? Why...

Did the Church believe in Geocentricity?
Did the Church and religious people in general resist the fact that we circle the sun, not the other way around?
Atheists push this and I'm wondering what some views of it are.
Is it true/does it condemn our views in any way?

Re: God's Will For Careers
I definitely get where you're coming from. I'm at college for music education right now, but I can't help but wonder if I should transfer to a nearby Christian college for Music Ministry and a Biblical minor. The problem is that I might not be challenged musically at the other school, but here I fee...

Which church is God's?
There is so much division in Christianity. I'm reading about arguments for and against Catholic teachings, about praying to saints, Eucharist, the apochrypha... It goes on and on. Why isn't there one church that is Christianity's? How am I supposed to know where to go or be part of a community in? I...

Prayers for my Career Choice
I'm finally digging in to my faith. I want to make every day about God and what I can do for Him. Right now I'm struggling with what I should do with my music career. I don't know whether to stay at this school going for my music education degree so I can teach band... or if I should go someplace el...

How does God speak to us?
I'm so blessed to have the knowledge God has given me lately. I'm so thankful that God has given me my experiences and my 'picture' of what life is so that I can know Him. Right now I'm learning lots more about my faith, examining Catholic vs. Protestant views, actually reading my Bible and loving i...
