Re: God + love + hell = ?

Two of your "proofs" are parables...and by definition...I think you know what I'm getting at. So you're maybe 1 for 4 since we already established that the spirit conjured was from below and not from heaven. In the above quote, you state quite clearly that the spirit was not from Heaven b...

Re: Let us make make man in our image.

Actually the only One revealed to them in the old testament was God the Son. This is who they actually called "Yahweh". God the Father was never actually revealed until the N.T. So who is Jehovah Jireh then? Gen 22:14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said ...

Re: sabbath keeping

I believe the Mosaic covenant (i.e., the OT law including all of the Ten Commandments) is "for" all of us in this general sense, but only directly applicable to the Jews who were living under it. And please don't accuse me of implying then it's alright to murder, steal, lie, etc., because...

I agree, but I'm not so sure of that being soooo literal. One word. Vegetation.

For the believer. Death is still pretty much alive (heh) for the unbeliever.

Re: The Trinity, tradition or scripture?

No, that's not correct. The only way for God to hear us is through Jesus. That is why we pray "in Jesus's name". He is our mediator, not the Holy Spirit. I guess Romans 8:26 is a lie. And I think you may have misunderstood me about the sperm. I didn't say the sperm was the father. I said ...

Re: sabbath keeping

If you can keep even one, more power to you...I'll bow down and worship you. y:O2 I can't. Thankfully Christ has fulfilled the requirement for me. I keep God's law perfectly ONLY THROUGH what Christ has done for me. As such, if I believe, his perfect righteousness is credited to me...though I remai...

Re: sabbath keeping

Really? The law of circumcision ( one commandment) is "the law of commandments contained in ordinances" that Eph. 2:14-15 says was done away with in order to break down the dividing wall? I think that interpretation leaves a little to be desired. You're right, of course, that circumcision...

Re: sabbath keeping

The penalty for breaking the law in the O.T. was death. Christ did away with the PENALTY, not the law itself. Christ fulfilled the law because nobody could ever keep it. I'm not saying we shouldn't strive to keep the 10 commandments, I'm just saying that it is not a salvation issue anymore. It is f...

Re: sabbath keeping

lol. Not in so many words...but Paul did say something about the law bringing death, did he not? That does include the 10 commandments. Death? Doesn't sound good to me. There must be something to that...but what could it be? Grace perhaps? y:O2 The Law ONLY brings death to those who transgress it. ...

Re: The Trinity, tradition or scripture?

Can a mind conceive a child? No, of course not. But notice the Holy Spirit is also the POWER of God. It can also be called the "seed". (1John 3:9) Just as a HUMAN father begets a son through his seed, so has God. Your question could be similar to saying "Who is the actual father of a...

Re: Swearing (again)

As God sent His Son Jesus Christ, God Himself to accomplish what we could not under the Law, in order that we might be adopted as Sons and Daughters by His grace and no longer attempt to earn our righteousness under the old system, I rather suspect it is those who wish to add anything to that who h...

Re: God + love + hell = ?

No, we haven't established the spirit conjured was "from below" - you think it was. The biblical narrative makes it clear that the spirit was that of Samuel. You obviously didn't do the homework I gave you. FL But the woman said to him, "Surely you know what Saul has done. He has cut...

Re: sabbath keeping

NIV - Luke 23:56 wrote: Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment. Hadn't Christ, God, told them they were no longer under OT law? No, cause they still were at that point. It wasn't until Christ preformed His duty as the ult...
