Re: Evidence for Free Will?

That's the stupidest crap I have ever heard, The same God of Love, "LOVING" his creation enough to die for them, I would think, wouldn't turn around and say "you just didn't make the cut, I knew you were gonna turn your back on me there, I gave you 6,700 different options to choose m...

Re: Some general questions about Calvinism.

No. It's called historical fact. I'll let you discover which theology surrounded which set of movements. While we are discussing logical fallacies, I could discuss "Sweeping Generalization", but certain disclaimers were cleverly inserted into some claims to wriggle their way out of this. ...

Re: Some general questions about Calvinism.

...it's also my considered opinion after studying and examining the entire system of belief, not just internally (which is where calvinists prefer to stay focused) but also externally in terms of the influences of culture, history, tradition and philosophical influence. While you are studying the h...

Re: Middle east tensions, Israel, end times, and God's exist

Let's see even though many of you have not directly answered my question, I"m getting the impression that if Israel ceased to exist a second time (I guess it would be the second time) you all WOULD give up your faith in Christianity and the God of the Bible. Is that what I"m getting? Pers...

Re: Some general questions about Calvinism.

Does anyone know if it's true that the members of the infamous westboro baptist church are calvinists? While I'm sure most calvinists wouldn't want to admit the association or the extreme to which they take it, the Westboro Baptist Church does state that they hold to Calvins 5 point Tulip. http://w...

I think you should tell them that you read an article that proved their article didn't exist.

Re: Some general questions about Calvinism.

Rick, ultimately this is a vicious circle. Because everything PL quotes is fully dependent on his determined Calvinist's definitions of election, predestination, soverignty, etc. I mean you might as well subsitute election for programed. It is futile to discuss with him, because he dogmatically hol...

Re: Some general questions about Calvinism.

That sounds like Calvinism to me. The Ephesians 1 passages are teaching you well. What about Ephesians 1:4-6, 11? Sounds like believing God's word, to me. I can see how you use these verses in Ephesians to justify what you believe. I just don't interpret them as you do. God knew those who are saved...

Re: Some general questions about Calvinism.

Yes. I am saved because of the faith that God has granted to me, and secure in the promise that he has predestined me, not just for salvation, or even for sanctification, but for adoption. I would ask you the same question. Do you have assurance? What is the basis for such assurance? Yes I have ass...

Re: Middle east tensions, Israel, end times, and God's exist

Thanks for responding. I certainly agree. I was mostly trying to see how many of you all here take the traditional Christian eschatologial views that are baisically surrounded around Israel and whatever goes on within that country. Many of them act like no matter what happens God will supernaturall...
