Re: Evidence for Biblical Astronomy
From an apologetics perspective, could somebody point me toward information addressing those concerns about the dating of those particular scriptures?

Fascinating perhaps but I do think that there are far better apologetic options out there...

Re: Sex within marriage
Have any of you looked at that site. :pound: I took a look through some of the topics. It's the usual "Well, God didn't specifically say we can't ..."-type of reasoning. Little thought or rationale applied. I see nothing wrong with that stance, and I don't think that much thought is...

Re: Sex within marriage
I think we should be careful not to read commandments into the Bible which simply aren't there.

Re: Gay marriage and straight marriage
I believe that marriage is under fire, and when I say that, it's not gay marriage that really has me concerned - it's the exorbitant divorce rate. I don't think that Christians need to be focused so much on that as they do on how many, even within their own ranks, are getting divorced rapidly. Malac...

Re: Once Saved always saved?
Hebrews 3:14 says: We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. This verse is, in my opinion, the strongest against eternal security. As some of you know from some of my other postings, Hebrews 6:4-6 bothers me because of my past, but I still believe...

Re: ID...why isn't it religion?
I accept evolution but I'm not so dogmatic about it that it's a religion to me - I recognize that it's possible that I'm wrong.

Re: Darwin and the Holocaust
My understanding is that the church as a whole was not as unified against evolution as it is today until Henry Morris, et al came around in the 1960s (for instance, B.B. Warfield was a theistic evolutionist, as am I), so I'm not as sure about how the church reacted as a whole. However, Christians ne...

Re: olympics in china
I kind of thought we should have boycotted too... what's more important, sports or human rights? This would be a strong way to make a statement. But since we're not, I figure, might as well enjoy the games... I really enjoyed watching the cycling road race. And to think that I'm not even in enough s...

I don't see this concept of reincarnation as biblically supported. Do you have any verses to support this view?

Meat
I have a couple of questions regarding the Christian's freedom to eat meat. My first is this - why does the New Testament take inconsistent stands on food sacrificed to idols? Acts 15:20 and at least another passage or two seem to uncategorically condemn it, but Paul places it in the category of &qu...

I think this borders on the dictating what God should have done vs. what God actually did do.Eoccidens wrote:To be honest, I don't think that there can be original sin in theistic evolution.
