My sister has also cut herself in the past being unable to properly cope with certain pains in her life, although I believe that has changed today. I I too can understand where you're coming from, and to share something that broke me out of a suicide spell, it was coming across a passage written by ...

I just came across a website of a ministry dedicated to Mormons— Living Hope Ministries . The have some trailers of films they have or will be releasing. One in particular that caught my attention was http://www.lhvm.org/ctbf/bband.htm , which was to do with Herbert Armstrong. Recommend people visit...

Rather than recycle the wheel in my own way, here is an indepth response on God being jealous as found at A Christian Thinktank : Jealousy is certainly an "odd" word to use of God--especially as a self-description (Ex 20.5; Dt 5.9)-- since this word is generally used negatively in today's ...

you said free choice, what does that mean, or waht do you mean by that The ability to make decisions. Pharaoh had the ability to let Israel go earlier, but chose not to. God worked with his decision to bring about His own outcome—Israel being given riches before sent packing, and to show H...

You seem to be operating from a limited definition of sin as "that which hurts others." That's not the definition; it's more like "that which God disapproves of." You see, our friend Shirtless and his ilk are what are called liberal Christians. They believe that most of the Bibl...

Not sure I understand what exactly you're asking, and what you do ask that I understand I'd think has already been answered some way in my last post. I can only recommend reading over my previous reply, and clearly highlighting anything that is unclear within it.

I think it should be noted that God didn't intervene to change Pharaoh's heart in such a way that it went against Pharoah's freedom of choice. Pharaoh had hardened his own heart numerous times before God intervened and hardened it more. Pharaoh had already clearly made the decision not to let Israel...

I'd like to stress that just because someone doesn't advocate a OSAS doctrine, it does not mean they believe someone can whimsically loose or gain salvation day-to-day, or not be assured of it.

Whether they do or don't come out and say so directly, if you read enough it should become clear that their writings are clearly saturated with a relative philosophy. At least I picked it up evidentally enough.

From the above discussions, I believe everyone agrees that there must be something which is eternal. The question now is: what is the necessary eternal "something"? Actually, that is what my last post provided an answer to. God is the intelligent life living in the higher dimensional worl...

Re: The moral fabric of God

My stance is that he is infinitely good and infinitely evil and he will not be biased to one nor the other -OR- he is not infinite. Let's say God is infinitely good. Does this not mean God is in some way infinite? Therefore you admit in your own conclusion that God can be infinite without being inf...

So your saying from what God says: that if some evil son of a ***** goes and kills a whole village with a shot gun, but is a Christian and believes Jesus died on the Cross, he is good compared to a normal person who lives a good honest life? Do you know that makes the Christian belief system look.....

Re: NT Confusion... Which was it?

My quam doesn't deal with the message that Jesus said... it is with what Jesus actually said! It matters a great deal, because the two same incidents that are reported in the gospels have Jesus saying two different things. It is with this example I ask which is truth is which is false, because I am...

It would be wrong to molest a child because you are doing to another which you would NOT want done to you. There's a victim in this case. With homosexuality, there is no victim. So something is only wrong because it causes harm or pain to another, rather than breaking God's standard that was impart...

Re: Do I remain Baptist if I don't believe OSAS anymore?

I love the internet. I went online looking for a discussion board concerning OSAS to get some feedback. ALL feedback is welcome, and prayerfully filtered. I was raised Southern Baptist, was baptized young (didn't know what it meant) later said "the sinner's prayer" at age 13, and was disc...
