Re: Is there any proof that God exists?

I have never seen any proof that God exists. The most proof I have that God exists is the God of the gaps fallacy, which (if you didn't know) basically boils down to "Science can't explain this yet, so God" Even if we could prove that there was a God for example, how do we know the Christ...

Re: Immigration reform (for Byblos)

It’s the same argument that justified slavery. The slave was the master’s property. The unborn baby is part of the woman’s body. The slave wasn’t viewed as human in the same sense that the white man was human. The unborn baby isn’t viewed as human in the same sense that the mother is human. Slavery...

Re: Immigration reform (for Byblos)

I don't understand the view that CHOICE supersedes Justification when it comes to taking a life. The whole, "It's a woman's body, she can do what she wants with it", is so illogical I can't even fathom that as ANY argument for ANYTHING ! It stops being JUST a woman's body the moment there...

Re: Immigration reform (for Byblos)

I assure you, I'm just as shocked and appalled by that Alabama law (and by many other policies that the GOP has proposed or enacted) as you are by H.R. 5383. Get over it. Lawmakers proposing things that you don't agree with is part of living in a free society. I had this conversation with my wife t...

Re: Anyone else horrified?

Of course, you and Ed don't agree with it, it must be a Russian outfit. Whatever, RT is a Russian outfit because it's owned by the Russian government. That's not a difficult claim to fact check . Ed, he wasn't referring to RT, he was responding to my fair and balanced comment, i.e. Fox News. Dude, ...

Re: Anyone else horrified?

I guess what throws me is how frequently I hear western conservatives repeating Russian propaganda. That's an opinion piece from a publication owned and controlled by the Russian government. It's spin from a foreign power whose main goal is to damage and weaken the West - to drive allied countries ...

Re: Immigration reform (for Byblos)

Wow, that is something. I am especially fond of Titles VI and VII with emphasis on this: TITLE VI—DECRIMINALIZE MIGRATION SEC. 601. REPEALING MIGRATION CRIMINAL LAWS. (a) Criminal Penalties For Entry At Improper Time Or Place.—Section 275 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1325) is re...

Re: Immigration reform (for Byblos)

If it was up to you what changes would you make and why? Everything I would want immigration reform to be is explicitly spelled out here: https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/president-trumps-bold-immigration-plan-21st-century/ And for full disclosure, lest anyone dare accuse me of any type of discr...

Re: Anyone else horrified?

Okie dokie. Oh well, I tried. Did you, though? I did. Too bad you not only did not see it, here you are questioning its sincerity, which makes it very difficult to converse with you. Everything that you wrote included the underlying assumption that the Republican criticisms of the Trump's impeachme...

Re: Anyone else horrified?

Rick Scott is proposing a constitutional amendment to raise the impeachment threshold in the house from simple majority to 3/5th. This way some measure of bipartisanship is somewhat assured before impeachment is voted on. I read it. I don't support it. It's a partisan political ploy which, if imple...

Re: Anyone else horrified?

I think you've answered my question. When I googled H.R. 5383 there were two general results - links to pages where I could read the bill, and links to stuff like this: “Under this legislation, the criminals are the victims. Law enforcement is illegitimate,” Carlson said. “It’s racist, just like th...
