Re: Magnetic mega star
It means God likes gigantic space-magnets. Really, you can replace the words in "gigantic space magnet" with just about anything to describe tons of natural phenomena, and I'd agree for the most part. It probably serves some sort of function, but if anything, it's to draw in asteroids. And...

Re: Anime & Anime Images
I've recently gotten into anime. Quite frankly, I think the styles are very well thought out and drawn, for their simplicity especially. I've used it to build upon my style of drawing, and I've been devising a machine to use to animate with using cut-outs that operates akin to an overhead projector....

Re: Question about Atheism and Communism...
Atheism isn't Communist, but Communism is inherently Atheist. Communism is based primarily around the concept of a "common good" being "sustained" by "the state"(The People in Communist lingo). The Common Good is an imaginary scapegoat that doesn't mean the good for mos...

Re: If you have to ask....
I played Modern Warfare 2 with a relative of mine on his PS3. The level with the warning, too. ಠ_ಠYou know, they could have been a little more specific , like "This level contains murder of innocents, terribly slow walking speed, and a protagonist who tries to justify mass-murder as counte...

Numbers Stations
Has anyone heard of these? They're radio stations that have been broadcasting numbers after certain verses of music. I found out about them in a top ten list someone made, and have been fascinated by them ever since. Quite haunting if I may say. It unnerves me the most because I found out about them...

Re: favorite ways to relax/unwind/take care of onesefl
I shoot things. No really, I feel less mad at everything when handling a gun, somehow. Generally calming to me because it require just enough concentration to hit the target without being too challenging or engaging. Since I live right outside the city, and don't like getting on peoples' nerves, I u...

Re: What has America become?
I'm moving out of this God-forsaken excuse for a country to a wasteland if I ever get the chance. It doesn't follow any of its own laws, treats its citizens like animals, and the law that is actually enforced has no function but to degrade the quality of life. I'd rather have to live off the land, r...

Transhumanism
I don't recall seeing a topic here started on this, so if I am the first, let me be the first. To my knowledge, Transhumanism is more or less of an offshoot of humanism, viewing human kind as a whole, and finding this imaginary "whole" to be more important than actual human beings. However...

My psuedoscientific idea for seeing the past.
I just came up with a rather unique, or at least I've-never-heard-it-before idea. What if it were possible to make a probe in the form of a long-range optical telescope go faster than light about three or two billion years away in the span of around five years? That way, you could turn it towards Ea...

Re: funny Dorkins Misquote (remix)-WARNING a little rude
I think Science is interesting. If you're a total nerd ... Then again, seeing as the internet, especially this website is populated entirely with bored people usually without lives who watch b-movies, StarTrek and obscure anime, then research books written thousands of years ago in Israel, after deb...

Re: Extraterrestrial Life
lest we bring them our perpetual ignorance and foolishness. Is this your attitude towards humans in general, or towards human science? Our ignorance is not perpetual and even if it is it would be something we can overcome. Being human is about breaking limits not about yielding to them. Albert Eins...

Re: Extraterrestrial Life
From a Christian viewpoint, do you think there is any other life in the universe (even bacterial life), aside from the angels? What about intelligent life? There are probably different types of amoebae on other planets, possibly small plant life. I can't say for certain if there are other sapient l...

Re: DNA sequence coding
"DNA" isn't blueprints, though; it's a set of chemical instructions. It's more a shopping list of building components than a detailed set of plans. In other words, let's say that someone is going to make a hut to put all his yard tools and stuff in; to be saying DNA is wholly responsible i...
