Re: Prayers Needed

Thank you everyone for your prayers.

Tim passed away this afternoon, with his wife and daughter by his side. He had too much brain trauma, and would never have been able to walk or speak again.

Re: Prayers Needed

Update... Micah was taken off the ventilator today. He is still in critical condition with his brain trauma, but the ARDS is gone. He is responding to stimuli and his family though, so progress every day. Tim, on the other hand, is not doing so well. His condition has not changed over the last 48 ho...

Prayers Needed

Hi, please keep two families in your prayers. Two of our church members were struck by a pickup while crossing the road. Tim is in grave condition with multiple brain injuries, and he has not been given much chance of survival. Linda suffered a broken pelvis and numerous other injuries. Please keep ...

Re: Prayer request for my mom

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

As Christians we do not mourn like those with no hope and no assurance, but with an understanding of our eternal destiny: 2 Cor 5:1

May God comfort you.

Re: Prayer request for my mom

Byblos, so sorry to hear.

I pray that our Father in heaven will comfort her and you, and the rest of her family and friends, and that He will grant the caregivers wisdom and insight to best treat her.

Re: OEC Bible

We are also starting to see some translations with a political motive, like being gender-neutral or changes text around homosexuality. Every serious Christian should have an interlinear Bible at least, and also learn a little bit of Greek and Hebrew so as not to rely on any translation specifically....

Re: Molinism discussion

Craig defines "free will" as "libertarian freedom". The "creaturely freedom" is necessary to produce counterfactuals. He is clear that creaturely freedom means agency freedom, i.e. the freedom to choose to do otherwise from within the agent. That necessarily excludes ou...

Re: Molinism discussion

jlay, so how exactly do you understand the counterfactuals of creaturely freedom? Molinism posits that those counterfactuals are choices that are all made in possible worlds, freely, and without any providence, interference, coercion or influence, and that God then chooses which world of those possi...

Re: Molinism discussion

I do believe that God has middle knowledge, but as I said I still have issues with Molinism and I'm not sure if it "solves the problems" that it purports to solve. The Scripture listed indicated that God does have knowledge of what people would have done under different circumstances, but...

Re: Reformed Theology Discussion

Ok, so I didn't really want to get into this, because this is Bart's thread. But since this has been a long-standing disagreement between him and me, I will add my small contribution here and then let him carry on. My interest is factual accuracy, as I know Bart's is too. I appreciate his hard work ...

Re: Molinism discussion

I hope you're not asserting, that I'm asserting something, August. Molinism is new to me. I really need to get a clue. I have no idea what's going on here. Could someone please explain to a newb, what the whole issue is? I thought the extreme end of Calvinism, holds to God's sovereignty, while prac...
