Re: Saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
I knew I shouldn't have made that last edit, but I did for space concerns. I had three full paragraphs on the difference in traditional foundationalism and fideistic foundationalism, of which I am the latter. There is further a difference in foundationalism andn non-foundationalism and even moderat...

Thanks FFC. I was told they were happy with my interview, but currently waiting to hear a solid acceptance and negotiate the amount I will be paid. (it was through an agency so...)

Re: Infinite Universe
I just want to see your claims backed up rather than it be simply stated that such logic makes holding both beliefs inconsistent. I can't just state something and let that stand on its own, yet you can simply state "The universe is temporal but God is not......God can become temporal when he w...

2. Assurance - I was going to handle this now, but I've run out of time. I know the length is more than needed, but I want to be very clear on all of these issues. I'll explain my view of assurance more clearly probably late tonight. In the meantime, can you tell me how it is that you have assuranc...

Re: another job attempt
Congrats FFC!
I just applied for a job too, and had an interview just before. I see it as the start of a new direction or stage in my life so hopefully I will get it. Should know in a matter of hours (I hope) whether or not I got it.

Re: Is it faith or foolishness to go to Afganistan for evangelis
I think it is the decision for the individual Christian to make given their responsibilities to others such as family and so on. I suppose it would only be foolish to the person who believes this life is all there is.

Re: Saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
Just want to deal with the first part of your post as I am happy that although we may not be agreeing with each other, that we have been able to strike at the core of our differences behind our beliefs and reasoning. Regarding the nature of faith, let me say that I think you have a pretty good under...

Re: Saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
Furthermore, I see Scripture does not support the idea of faith, at least a saving faith, being a matter divorced from who we are and a mere an acceptance of a promise to be true. Jesus Himself stated: 21"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who d...

Re: The Case for the Global Flood
Quite some years ago, I either read or heard Hugh Ross placing the timing of the flood at about 11,000-13,000 years ago. I may be wrong. But if people had been dispersed across the world at 30,000BC, the flood in a Day-Age position would need to be put before 30,000BC. The flood in the Biblical nar...

Re: Saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
In this post I have stepped back to analyse the main issues, and the underlying causes for differences in our positions. The main issue being discussed in this thread is the nature of faith. A closely related issue of high importance is that of assurance. So I am going to address these two issues, a...

Re: The Case for the Global Flood
Is there something wrong with an early date? Keep in mind Day-Age advocate an upper limit of about 60,000 years ago for the origin of humanity.

Re: The Case for the Global Flood
Yes, but I believe you hold to the idea that there were other human beings on earth, and that Adam is not the father of all men, but only of the covenant people, right? Now, if I am right ont hat, then to be honest, I don't have any interest in that position nor any arguments about the flood relati...
