Re: CBM - The Circularity Bogy Man
Of course, I agree 100%. That is why the bible being it's own authority doesn't work with them and one needs to use other methods to show the bible as authoritive and THAT has always been my point. What other methods are you suggesting, Paul? I only see that God has to touch them in some way for th...

Re: A few new atheist arguments I recently came accross...
I have no problem with anyone that takes the bible as inerrant and literal and concrete. Paul, I have no problem with taking the bible as inerrant, and literal. I do have a problem with taking the bible in a rigid, concrete way. For example, YECs take the bible in an extremely concrete way when it ...

Re: CBM - The Circularity Bogy Man
Discussing scripture with the atheist is an exercise in futility, Paul. They need to believe in order to understand. :amen: And that is why it is so important to be led by the Holy Spirit when witnessing to unbelievers. Only if they are open, will God speak to them through the Bible. If they're not...

Re: CBM - The Circularity Bogy Man
Danny and Paul, I know both you know this, so I'm not speaking directly to you. The only way we can reach unbelievers is through prayer. God has to be the one to open them up to His message. That is the only way they can begin to understand anything of God. That is the only way any of us came to und...

Re: CBM - The Circularity Bogy Man
Do we prove the Bible from the Bible? Absolutely. There is enough evidence for the accuracy of the bible in history, and fulfilled prophesy, that we can make an argument of its truthfulness, if we choose to do so. Are Christians using circular reasoning when they employ an internal defense of Scrip...

Re: CBM - The Circularity Bogy Man
It really upsets me to see Christians railing against the circularity bogy man. I’m not sure if this is a result of being brow-beaten by atheists into believing this nonsense. I feel this is doing a great disservice to apologetics. Now, to those Christians afraid of the CBM, please abandon this lun...

I'd also love to hear your testimony as well.Silvertusk wrote:Hi and welcome to the board.
It will be great to hear your testimony one day about how you converted from Islam to Christianity but as for your question I will leave more learned people to answer it.
God bless

Re: A few new atheist arguments I recently came accross...
The consistency of the entire bible, when understood in its proper context, "legitimizes" itself, so to speak. So in that way, it does prove itself to be trustworthy, IMO.As I express before, the bible can't be used to "legitimize" itself.
