Re: This really bothers me...

I'm a somewhat sensitive person, meaning that it doesn't take much for me to get angry, stigmatized, or in other ways upset. I know what I believe and why I believe it, I know that God is real and I believe in Christ.... But I have a VERY hard time dealing with atheists and others (but mostly athei...

Re: This really bothers me...

I know ad hominem and straw man arguments when I see them - but just that they bother me and dig like a knife in my side, slowly inching in closer and closer until I get to the point where I have to cut everything off so I can get back in a better state of mind. - Matthew 7:6 - Give not that which ...

Re: My issue with religon

A friendly reminder: The Bible is a stumbling block to unbelievers. Eliminate the offending passages and unbelievers will love it. You could eliminate most of the OT, most of the NT and with a little luck, you could squeeze the Bible into the space of a few pages, ten at most. I'll call it the HUV,...

Re: My issue with religon

I found it facinating how Pastor Keller had to deal with these very issues and how well he did. I always worry when I hear from someone that the reason they are not a Christian is because of the Christians they know. It always brings me to that warning about NOT being the stumbling block to others....

Re: My issue with religon

Has anyone here read "The reason for God" by Tim Keller? It goes into the very issues that so many do have with religion ( and Christianity in particular), including does that WERE Christians. I read it two years or so ago. I have the book at my mother-in-law home. I can take it to my hom...

They do good works because of their love, not because they are commanded to. That is God's grace through Christ. Re: Mother's Day

I posted a comment through text yesterday; which was mother's day, that I would like to share here: Men everywhere are honoring their wives today even though that old Jezebel (Revelations 2:18-29) isn't being obedient (Titus 2:5, 1 Peter 3:1). --- IN CHRIST --- -bradford- Bradford, Why is it that w...

Re: Please Introduce Yourself Here

Quite right.. In fact the very first Christian churches in Israel were actually synagogues. Many of these messianic symbols were found in these synagogues.. As you can see it was Jew (Menorah) and Gentile (the fish) coming together. //www.olimpublications.com/images/artifacts.jpg And even the first...

Re: My issue with religon

It's clear that you're natural minded (1 Corinthians 2:14)and as such can't really understand Christianity; or rather, true Christendom.. My advice to you would be to repent and get converted.. Then maybe you'll have ears to hear.

Re: Bringing people back to life

ultimate777 » Wed May 16, 2012 8:52 pm Before we start debating whether or not it will ever be possible for ordinary people to bring dead people back to life by non-supernatural means lets say it is possible? Hey, who would have believed airplanes possible 1000 years ago, ok? (That's a rhetorical q...

Re: Bringing people back to life

What would be the point if they haven't been regenerated (John 3:3, John 3:6, John 6:63)? Bringing zombies back to life would really be bringing zombies back to death (1 Corinthians 15:45).

Re: Please Introduce Yourself Here

Don't mean to poke my nose where it doesn't belong... Some of what was said above sounds good.. But what does THE WORD say? - Romans 2:28-29 - For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circum...
