Re: God as a big black woman

Is it a Solution or a Snow Job? “I have known the author of The Shack, Young, for more than a dozen years. In 2004, Young wrote a lengthy document in which he rejected his evangelical faith and embraced universalism. He said then: that evangelical faith and its teaching about judgment makes God ‘gr...

The author said as much - that he rejects common Christianity and subscribes to universalism.

Re: The Mark of the Beast

The mark of the beast isn't worldwide. It's limited to the 10/7 nation empire of the beast. What makes people think this mark or the anti-Christ kingdom is worldwide? It's what they've been taught. They put their trust in these teachers because they're THE PROPHECY EXPERTS! So you only trust what p...

Re: Is being an atheist irrational?

As being an atheist I don't feel like being irrational. At least I hope not. To presume that all atheists are irrational, as the post-title does suggets, is irrational in itself. There is no one atheist like another, as there is no one Christian like another, etc… Wrong. Atheists don't believe in a...

And what have you discovered thus far?

Let me guess, you're not a prepper?

Re: Evolving from Simple to Complex?

The obvious question I would have for you, is do you believe in the virgin birth of Christ, and his resurrection, which are both New Testament miracles? Yes, I thought you might. The answer, as I wriggled away with just now, is that I don't know. In several circumstances we have an undisputed befor...

Re: Genesis 9:5

How does an animal give account to God for killing a person? So far two answers seem possible-God will kill that animal, or there will be a sort of day or reckoning in the animal's afterlife, if they even have one. Do animals go to hell? I don't think they do, they seem to be in the same group like...

Re: earth's age and God

Does the bible compare the age of earth to God's age or something? I've heard this but I haven't found it, even on google. God has NO age! Age is but a number, but it is always SOME number, nonetheless. ETERNAL/ALWAYS existing - there is no number for that - He transcends those parameters. Can't qu...

Re: Is being an atheist irrational?

All the talk these days is of holograms and a matrix-style universe. The problem with atheists is that they never want to say the word God, they always say something like super intelligence. So while everything is pointing towards a creator God they can never admit it. They can't even prove that the...

Re: Jesus's dead

Get some old church pictures like from the first several centuries AD. Since virtually all of Christendom accepted the cross as fact it might work. But then again these seem to be JWs you're with, and so I'm not sure how to help, since they're firm in that idea of the "Jesus on stake" thi...

Re: Does God Tinker with the Universe?

God tinkers with humans. So I see no reason He would not tinker with the universe. A rogue asteroid heading for earth for instance could be redirected by God. No where in the Bible does it say that God is a hands off God. On the contrary he tinkers on a large scale with the earth.

Re: The lake of fire?

I think this idea came from Catholics. Eh? I'm a Catholic, and it certainly didn't come from me! I think people forget that for 1500 years the only form of Christianity that existed was what we would now call Catholic, and the rich tradition of metaphor and mythology that grew to surround the under...
