Re: Can someone from a cult teach us truth?

Ditto, what Rick said.
Anyone can teach us the truth. E.g. in the case of Balaam, it was a donkey.

Re: Vegas shooting...?

In America, it is the right of the people to protect themselves against the Government (right of revolution). Such would be unheard of in many other nations, whether Singapore, Australia, Japan, Middle Eastern and many European states. Should the Government overstep and become tyrannical, then it i...

Re: Vegas shooting...?

Can't guns be banned outright? In Singapore the penalty of even owning a gun is caning. Owning two guns means you are trafficking arms, which can lead to imprisonment, and found with several guns, may be sentenced to life. If you used a gun, you're screwed. Death Penalty or lifetime sentences await ...

Re: Nature of Reality: A Challenge to Atheists

K, I appreciate your post and the TED talk you shared. Very interesting indeed. I was reading about something like this a while back when it comes to perception at the quantum level, which again means that perception drives reality, forks it. Now what Hoffman is saying is different but a lot of what...

Re: Nature of Reality: A Challenge to Atheists

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends on your brains capacity to handle information at any given moment. If you are high, you can't trust your senses. If you are inhaling carbon monoxide, you will not be able to sense correctly as it screws up our senses. I am not sure why would you ask this though. ...

Re: Nature of Reality: A Challenge to Atheists

Is Sensory experience objective or subjective? I don't think the question applies really as it has nothing to do with the sensory triggers themselves but your brain's knowledge and interpretation of it. I have addressed this below. The right question is "How accurate sensory experience is?&quo...

Re: All prayers needed

I plan to make altar of love - photos of me and Tomi and other things. There I will put my ring to his ring, and the necklace from him I wore almost 15 years. I will put our love there and will bury me with it. It will be no more me, not Hanka anymore. Gone with Tomas. And the altar of love will be...

Re: Nature of Reality: A Challenge to Atheists

Thoughts exist only because of neural synapses. A very material thing, a real physical thing. When a single neuron fires, a thousand other fire with it, this collective trigger is called a thought. Without this, there are no thoughts. It is a very platonist thing to say that thoughts exist the same...

Re: Nature of Reality: A Challenge to Atheists

...it's painfully obvious that thoughts are a product of a physical world, after all. They don't exist in the immaterial. So, we're right back to the ultimate question: Where did the physical/material elements of the world come from? They did not create themselves. While that can be debated, I am n...

Re: Global Warming: Massaging the Data per Desired Results?

Guys, the climate is always changing, always. Even as the moon drifts away from the Earth inch by inch, it will affect the climate as a whole. Be certain of that. Have the humans dumped a lot of CO2 into the atmosphere? Yes, we have. Whether or not the ME period was the same as today or not, (it cou...

Re: Global Warming: Massaging the Data per Desired Results?

The warm-blooded controversy had raged for fifteen years, before a new perception of dinosaurs as quick-moving, active animals was acecpted-but not without lasting animosities. At conventions, there were still colleagues who did not speak to one another. But now, if dinosaurs could be cloned-why, G...
