Re: The Truth Surrounding the Theory of Evolution and its Rationale

Paul, I don't need to have a 100% understanding of Christianity, to be able to read english.

By the very same logic, our friend Abel, the proponent of the gap theory can say this:

I don't need to have a 100% understanding of evolution, to be able to read english

Re: The Truth Surrounding the Theory of Evolution and its Rationale

Your academic accreditations are irrelevant, One imagines the response if that comment was directed to a person with a masters degree in biology discussing evolution... Ah the sheer bias of it all...and he wonders why we take what he says with a grain of salt. Don, you have NOT demonstrated a desir...

If you understood, you wouldn't have said what you said.

Re: The Truth Surrounding the Theory of Evolution and its Rationale

So, by me stating and showing that people are the issue and NOT science or religion, what I was doing was "rationalizing" a difference between what is done in the name of science compared to religion?

Wow...I think we have our answer guys.

Re: The Truth Surrounding the Theory of Evolution and its Rationale

Welcome to "half assed" Sunday school religion 101 !! LOL ! At least now we get where you are getting your flawed understanding of Christianity. As usual, more condescending, ad hom, groundless inferences. I certainly don't hear any proof or explanation behind your silly comments. Why is ...

Re: Morality

Before we continue, with all of your post, can we address this first? You said: Kenny wrote: Okay; lets assume morality is objective, and people aren’t qualified to determine right from wrong (morality), thus we need something else superior to us to determine such complicated issues; like God. Why ...

Re: The Truth Surrounding the Theory of Evolution and its Rationale

People do horrific things in the name of religion. People do horrific things in the name of science. People do horrific things in the name of tribalism. People do horrific things when they believe that good is subjective. People do horrific things when they believe good is objective. The pattern, yo...

Re: Morality

Even if there is no authority we can refer to we all have an intuition of what is right and wrong. In most cases my feelings about right and wrong can be related to my intellectual understanding of what is best to me, to my family, and to the society. No further reference to a God is needed. Your i...

Re: Morality

I see, so the issues is that you guys think that with objective morality that people can't decide what is moral?

Re: Morality

Can animals be moral? Can they have a conscious rational view of good and bad? Good question, how can we find the answer? ask them? Hey, Fido, when you protected that kitten from that Pitbull and put yourself in danger, were you aware that you were showing self-sacrifce? and why? Hey Tommy the goril...

He was best known for his remark that, "Science flies you to the moon. Religion flies you into buildings".

Probably one of the dumbest things have read.

Re: The Truth Surrounding the Theory of Evolution and its Rationale

think that there are very few of us that could resist the temptation of immortality and acquiring all knowledge, just by eating a piece of fruit. So I think forgiveness was certainly in order, from a benevolent God. Why tempt your own creation in the first place? Why was this temptation in anyway n...

Re: Morality

If you really can't get were subjective morality can end up, I am not sure where this conversation is going. I want you to picture, for a moment, a world in which any act that is done is defined as good or bad based solely on the whim of either the majority OR those with enough power to impose their...
